I just think its funny that he is asking why when he comes out of the corners on the gas is the rear end sliding? Oh i dunno how about the fact that you are running a bike with over 160HP and it weighs just over 400 lbs and has more torque than anything he has ever driven.

I think this guy and a couple of the guys defending him assume that there is one knife edge sized suspension setting that will work, maybe if your name is Hayden or Rossi, but for a normal rider on the street or track days, I think there is a HUGE amount of leeway into what suspension can do. I dont care how the dealership "screwed it up" I find it hard to believe that any rider with experience couldnt deal with it. Is it ideal? probably not, will it cause a rider with experience to crash? Certainly not.
Its his inexperience plain and simple, he says he knows this, but then needs to get every last bit out of the suspension. If you truly know this is inexpereience hed be able to ride along and deal with it.
Just look around you, from the house you live in to the car you drive to the quality of women you attract. All, directly related to the amount of capital you can generate.
Fact is partner, you ride what you can afford! There are odd exceptions. However, I doubt if you are among the exceptions![]()
hey Scooter no offense but for a 58 year old guy you seem overly concerned that we all know you're a wealthy industrialist.. did your success come to you late in life?
And why shouldn't someone buy a rocket ship for their first bike? - give one of your 16 year old grandkids one of your Busas and see.

Yah, it really sucks that Im jealous of that guy cause I'm 26 and out of college for 3 whole months and cant afford a 17000 dollar motorcycle I can use 5 months of the year. Or maybe I can afford it when he crashes again and blames it on suspension, whichever.
I have what I want in life, nothing more nothing less. If I want something I will get it and if I can't afford it I will find a way to make more money. If it is somethign I can do without I don't bother. I have worked my ass off since I was 14 years old to get to where I am and I have no reason to be jealous of anybody. So while you might be hung up on the fact this moron can afford to go waste money on a Ducati (Its a waste cause he has already dropped it 3 times and mark my words he will total it) and a hummer I don't think anybody else here is hung up on anything other than the fact he is an idiot. I actually feel bad for the guy as he obviously feels he has something to prove by showboating.

Fuck this thread it sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who cares if someone bought a 1098 for a first bike?
If i had the money i would've!
Really??? Because I make a hell of a lot more money now than I did 6-7 years ago, however then I bought a BMW(car) that made me close to car-poor. Now, I could care less about driving the best car I can afford. And I'm not living in the most expensive house I can afford. On top of it, my girlfriend is drop dead gorgeous, I've dated other very attractive women, and that's attributed to personality, or "game," not how I flaunt cars/houses/ect. That shit's for insecure guys who can't show for anything except their bank accounts. F'n weak ass.

i'd bet money if either of you had "rock star" money you'd spend it as others would consider stupid...it's all in perspctive...some people think buying any motorcycle is stupid......

Its not that the dude has a lot of money and buys a liter bike, its that he bought a liter bike that most people take issue with. I think its stupid, and I started on a 636, was it smart, no, would i have done it differently knowing what I know now, yes. Would a less wealthy person get the same shit for buying a liter bike? Probably from the same people they would.
Your damn right I would have a lot of toys that people would think are not needed. Let me give you an example though. I have always wanted to learn how to fly a helicopter and own one. I will do that one day, if I had rockstar money I would surely do that now. What I would not do is go drive to a helicopter dealership and buy a top of the line one without learning anything about them and then complain the helicopter is not set up right WHEN I crash it.
I don't care if this dude bought a $150k motorcycle as it makes no difference in my life how much money he spends. My comments were pased around the fact that he went out and bought a high performance machine with no experience and no knowledge, he had the dealership lower the bike and then complains that its the bikes fault he crashed. That makes him an idiot in my book no matter how much the bike cost.
I did not bring up the Money issues Scooter-ass did when he started spouting off about we must be jealous because he can afford it. Sorry pal, don't need "capital" or a nice car to get woman.
Don't worry son, I've been happily married and divorced nine times, Viet Nam and prison. You don't have enough led in your britches to offend me!
And, you are correct I've taught more than one person to ride a busa for their first bike and thus far, no one has had a problem. Could be the folks I hang out with are smart enough to master the throttle?![]()
This thread got a lot less cool very quickly.
