I've never been there so I might have to try to find some time in the next couple weeks and make a trek up there.

Had just seen this on Facebook and it left me gutted. Paul was one of the good guys, and I will remember my days of being a regular on Thursdays fondly. I was just in his parking lot last week with my roommate, a new rider, pontificating about what a class shop MotoMarket was. Best of luck in your new direction.

CAn't say I was a stellar customer, but did buy from the shop on a regular basis. It sucks losing a local hangout shop like this. Now instead of hanging out there Thursdays, there will be hooliganism throughout the rte 2 suburbia. Sad to see it go...
+1
I never bought my gear online. Paul would let me walk out of the store with $300 gloves to try them out (sit on my bike and feel the controls). When I wanted something he didn't stock, he ordered in 3 sizes to make sure we had the right size. I've gone in the store ready to buy, we talked about the problem, he could have easily gone along with my idea and made a sale, but he offered a simpler alternate approach that made him no money.
Paul, thanks for all the help and the gear. The customer service was top notch. Best of luck on "the new road".
I bought my first and current jacket from Paul 7 years ago, and my Gf bought her gloves from him last week. I can't say that I am a die hard loyal customer, and I am guilty of buying online. But for me, it was being able to buy gear that I can afford and be protected, rather than riding without gear while in the process saving up. I enjoyed dropping by on the way to or back from a ride and just hanging out, have some coffee, watch the race and shoot the shit.
I wish Paul all the best on his new adventure.

Looks like I'm going to be going back an purchasing my new helmet sooner than expected. I've only bought a few small things from there, but my experiences were always great there.
You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style
I'm guilty of using online shops, but only cause the ones I use have local bricks & mortar (Whitehorse, Factory Connection, Venco Wings) I have attended the majority of Paul's open house events in the past decade, bought several pairs of gloves just to get home with warm hands, if Paul was more local, I would have bought more stuff

Definately sad to see them go. Never actually bought anything from there (guilty of buying 99% of my shit online as well) but was always a cool place to go, hang out and check out some cool bikes.
wait...why??
so his business was hurting that much with all the loyal customers he has??
1000 people buying 1 new helmet every 5 years doesnt turn a profit.
I bought my race gloves there, never needed to replace them. If I needed a nice suit I would've gone there. If I was going to buy an Arai I wouldve gone there. Alas, I never had the money for a nice suit nor Arai.
His coffee and cakes were fantastic though. Too bad 2 bucks every week isnt enough to live off. I loved riding out there for our sunday rips with Mr. Squirrel.
Yeah, I can't think of another business that only sells motorcycle-gear to only people locally.
There are places with local retail outlets in New England like Cycle-Gear and Twisted Throttle. However those places do most of their business through their websites.
That is a shame. Definitely got some good advice, and his leather rentals allowed me to do my first track days. I hope whatever he's going on to do goes well.

the only normal people are the ones you don't know very well.
See, if I asked you to help me with the fit of gear, I would feel compelled to buy from you if you were helpful--even if it wasn't on that particular day.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
paul is a great guy - and would frequent moto market often during the days when working... just stopping in for some coffee and a snack. - was a cool lil cafe - will be missed.
Pat that wasn't too bitchy. you should have told the guy to F off

Nice to meet a bunch of people and put some faces to screen names.

Went to my first bike night out there tonight, and man there was some sweet bikes. I also ended up spending over $600 on gear, but totally worth it from that place!

This REALLY sucks. I love that shop and paul is the best.
