You wouldn't catch me putting my bike on one of those things. I think tongue weight on standard (Class III?) receivers is 500 lbs. So a sportbike would be pushing it (I know the model you linked is for dirtbikes only...they do have them for sportbikes, which is why I'm mentioning it).
Dirtbike...maybe. Loading and stability would seem to be issues with that design. I would look at other ways...a real trailer is best bet.
sorry, I do intend to use it for dirt and pit bikes.
just have no more room to put a trailer in the house.

carlton,
Why not invest in one of those smaller foldable trailers? Something similar to a Kendon type trailer? You could fold it up and keep it in your backyard, i know there's plenty of room up there and i'm sure its easy enough to push back there.
But yeah i thought about those carriers and see them every now and then at the track but i wouldn't trust them. I mean for the price of that carrier you can get the small folding Harbor Freight trailer that can trailer your streetbike with no problems.

be fine for one dirt bike. plus if your using it with a truck you could use additional straps incase that rig fails the bike may not hit the ground.
thanks guys.
to your point duey, I 1st started with the foldable trailer, but can't picture it being store outside, and then thinking I can always rent trailers from uhaul for track.
carrier would be good enough to take the pitbike around.
confused, here

I've used a carrier with my various sport bikes for four years and never had an issue. I think the biggest concern is whether the truck can take the torque/weight placed on the hitch insert. I drive a Chevy Trailblazer and never had a problem. With a bigger truck or suv that shouldn't be a problem. As for stability, the carrier I have is incredibly stable on the road...surprisingly so. I bought it on ebay from a place gccarriers. Send a pm if you have questions.
