I have helmet and gloves.
I need jacket and pants.
Then once the credit card bill is down I will get boots.

Cheers,

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
I think I'll learn how to ride comfortable before I step towards the IPOD

you guys actually listen to music while riding? All the music I need to hear on my bike comes from the exhaust and clutch. If I want to listen to music, I will drive my car.Originally posted by Mystery Squid

Those easily slide into your helmet and sound pretty damn good... Bet set I have found for riding (after trying at least 8 different pairs/configurations)

I rarely ride with my mp3 player, but it is nice on liesurely rides like the back roads to the track!I have a nice little RIO, but found it to be a problem mounting on the bike, it cuts out on really bumpy roads?? I dont think it likes the vibration of my V-Twin either.. So when i do use it I need to program a song list and let it play while tucked away in my jacket. It would be nice to have it mounted where I can change songs, volume, etc.... Any suggestions?

Life is full of curves...just lean into them!!!
Dude, my brother was working on ambulance, so he would come home and tell all the crazy shit about what happened on the shift and about a biker who got hit by a train, helmet torn off ... head split in half ....
Your mother will always look at you as her baby. There is an official report that comes on bike statistics. It's called HURT or something of that sort. Basically you are 33 times more likely to die in a collision while riding a bike (duh) and 95% of all riders who crashed have never took MSF course. So just take MSF and don't drink .... ; )
I think this is all bullshit. If you take chances you'll get bit. My 2 cents: wear gear, practice and ride like a paranoid maniac. Just remember that the biggest risk in your life is not taking any risk at all (or however it goes)
Here is some stuph I cut/ pasted from first thing on Google:
92% of all motorcycle accidents involve untrained riders.
50% of all motorcycle fatalities involve alcohol.
One out of five motorcycles riders that got into fatal accidents in
1996 had an invalid license.
More than 50% of the motorcycle accident-involved riders had less
than five months' riding experience or less than 500 miles of motorcycle
riding experience.
Motorcycle riders between the ages of 16 and 24 are significantly
over-represented in accidents; motorcycle riders between the ages of 30
and 50 are significantly under-represented.
Riders getting into accidents showed significant collision avoidance
problems, such as overbraking of the rear wheel and underbraking of the
front. The ability to countersteer and swerve was essentially absent.
Thanks for all the great info guys and girls. As most of you know I got a bike and I took it out for a ride last night. I am just getting used to everything about it, learning how it turns and accelerates and all that fun stuff. I will hopefully be able to ride it to bike night soon.
