Well I decided to do a TPM event on Pocono FUSA last friday and ended up going down right after lunch.
It was raining all morning there and I took the basic track course so we were actually going at a pretty slow pace in the morning and things were going good. The session after lunch though the track started to dry and I was feeling pretty good out there so needless to say I tried to pick the pace up. I came off the back straight and went through a few right handers into a sharp left hander. For some reason I thought I had come in too hot to the left hander and panicked. In actuality all I probably needed to do was lean over more and keep looking through the turn. Unfortunately I panicked, grabbed the brakes and thought I needed to get it up right. I looked up into the grass and from then on I just target fixated right on it. Since it was all mud as soon as the front weel was in the mud it slid out from under me.
I'm ok though I was only going about 15 mph I believe when it happened. Landed on my shoulder bumped my head a little, but the helmet appears to be ok. The fairings got a little scratched up with a crack up by the windshield, the front blinker is gone, the clip into the water sensor broke, and the handle bars dented the tank. Other than that it was fine though. The coaches there told me to clean it up, get it re teched and back out on the track. I didn't even miss a session. I'm really glad I was able to get back out there so I didn't get all bent out of shape about it.
It hurt my pride a little and I felt like such an idiot when it happened, but I knew I was going to go down at one point or another and this is probably the mildest thing that could've happened. Otherwise I still felt good at the track and glad I got back in it the next session as if I went home I probably would just be thinking about it the entire time. Can't wait to go back to the track again.
Oh yeah pics to follow. I'm at work right now and couldn't get the camera to put the pics online the past few days.
hey man, glad to hear it wasn't anything too major & you weren't hurt.
Other than that did ya have a good time & learn alot?

...welcome to the club....
glad you're OK....!
(Experience is what you get right AFTER you could have really used it! But you get to add that to the Experience Bucket at the same time to took a little out of your luck bucket! Trick is to fill the former before emptying the latter!)

Yeah otherwise things went well. It dried up for the most part and when I got back out there I felt pretty good. Overall I'd probably rather go up to NIHS since well it is an hour closer, I did favor Tony's a bit more, and NIHS was definately a more interesting track especially on the 250 since the long straights at Pocono FUSA made it kinda frustrating with straight line heroes. Not like I'm gonna go out and lap the field, but there were definately several people that were getting annoying getting a wheel on them in the corner, but them just pounding it and blowing by when they got the bike upright.
Taking the class helped a lot too. Definately got me looking down the track more and using reference points a lot better. Can't wait to get back on the track. It definately also pointed me more in the direction of buying a track only bike next year rather than buying a nice bike and taking it to the track/using it on the street.

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike
It's about 4 hours. Not a bad drive just insanely boring on 84 especially when you're driving by yourself. I'll try to get those pics up tonight I used my mom's camera to take the pics since mine's dead and I can't seem to get the damn camera back lol.
