Riding solo
Part of a group and everyone got tickets
Part of a group and only I got a ticket
Both, cops love me!!!
Never
I dunno. I used to do poker runs and shit in Virginia, used to see guys wreck and like Stoneman in t'other thread, I got to where I'd peel off when shit got squirrely. I always use ta tell groups, ya get stupid, I'm gone, don't bother waiting for me. I hate seein' doods crash, it's the worst. And it spooks ya to see someone crash, especially if, at the roots, the dood that crashed is better (better skills, getting down a road faster, whateverthefuck) than you are.I never got tickets or crashed myself though. Travelin' by myself, especially since I moved up here in the Fall, I ride like I want, do my thing on the slabs, the state routes in Maine, Vt., N.H. up in the hills and even when I've SEEN a cop (three times in 5000 miles this year) when I was misbehavin', they didn't bother with me if they saw me. If it was more bikes I was movin' with, how could a copper ignore it? And if you're with a bunch of bikes squiddin', ya gotta all split up and hope the ones that get caught don't rat out the ones that got away. My experience, riding alone is better from a getting caught standpoint.
I don't think it makes a ton of difference. But groups do make you more visible and give an impression that you're racing vs. solo.
I don't have much experience w/ tickets on the bike. Been pulled over once in a group and twice solo in about 12 years of riding. Maybe i'm not using all that power...
Got pulled solo a couple times, once in Canton Ct at 99 in a 40 on some twisty back road, came over a hill face to face with a local going the other way, hit the brakes and stopped. Cruiser did a 5 point turn and came blasting up to me. By the time he got there i had all my gear off and reg out. First thing he says is "thanks for stopping" Runs the plates and lic. Comes back up, asks if i know how fast i was going, i tell him probably close to a buck, he nods and tells me i should know better than that and have a nice day! No ticket or anything.

never been pulled over on my bike. but i always see groups of bikers pulled over every day around here. most of the times its older guys on their harleys and cruisers.
Been pulled over a few times alone, a few times deservingly so. That damn motard....
I've only been pulled over twice on the bike. First time, a friend went "full retard" and hit 95 in a 30. I saw the cop the whole time (and yelled, but my friend decided it was time to test his acceleration capabilities) and never went above 30, but he pulled me over when I finally caught up to them. Nothing to ticket me for, though my friend got a $1,250 notice to appear in court (which he somehow beat).
The second time that I got pulled over was by a small town cop in the middle of vermont (estimated 65 or 70 in a 35). There we two of us, and as soon as I saw him turn his lights on I pulled over and took off my helmet. When he finally came around the corner he gave me a stern lecture, but never even asked for my license. Told us that if he caught us again we'd regret it and then drove off. I've only ever received one speeding ticket, and it was in my car about 3 years ago.
Bingo! It's when 2 or more are stormin' around that the copper's think you're racing that the trouble starts. Then, everyone has to split up, and the ones that get away have to worry that the one got caught is gonna break the Omerta (or go Big Pussy" Bonpensiero) and ratcha out.
Who needs THAT?

Most leaders stress "ride your own ride" so that pretty much makes you solo even when in a group.
I've been ticketed solo, ticketed in a group, ticketed as a subgroup and road blocked in a very large group. We all got out of the road block because the officer didn't want to overwhelm his dispatcher by calling in a $hit load of registrations.

I've been ticketed for speeding 10 times (only once on the bike) and have been arrested for reckless op for doing wheelies... Cops see my record and usually just ticket me. I've only been pulled over in a group ride once (thanks Jackie and Greg) ... Memories

Insurance sucks. I'm tagged as the highest risk on policy (fire & hazard I think)? Last year was the first I didn't get a ticketI pay almost $350/mo ... Its a lot, but its been higher!
I've also been ticketed for running a red light, failing to stop @ a stop sign, following too closely, negligent op for crossing 3 lanes on the highway to blow past everyone (who knew that focus was a cop car!), noise violation (the subs were cranked and it was 1am), failure to turn high beams off, animal @ large when one of my Rotties jumped out of my truck window at some random guy (didn't mean to make the guy piss his pants...), and most recent: my dogs are pissing off my neighbors (apparently barking is a problem?)...
But hey, I'm a safe driver! ... ...

Was going about a buck forty on the highway with someone from here and a few other riders. Leader from here got pulled over and we preceded to get off the next exit. We went to the gas station right off of the exit and shortly after 3 cops showed up at the station. The leader was the only one to receive a ticket. The rest of us got off scott free. Not even a written warning.

Holy Jeebus Cbr chick..
My best pulled in a group was last yr actually. A bunch of us decided to goto the top of Greylock while the road was still under construction and closed to traffic. It was freshly paved and just begging to be ridden so we rode around the gate and had us some good ole fun!!
Got to the top where the road splits to go down the back or head to the lodge thingy up there and were' just hanging out talking bout the road and where we are, my first time up there when all of a sudden this pickup comes squealing down the road at us.
turns out to be a ranger..
This guy squeals to a stop jumps out is totally flustered by our sheer presence up there and can barely get his words out.. what are you doing up here.. the road is closed.. how did, you had to.. . WHAT THE FUCK GUYS!!
I know for a fact theirs a chain down there, now I can see 1 maybe two of you going around it.. BUT ALL 7 of you!!! Gimee you licenses and registrations.. I can't believe this.. what the fuck are ya'll thinking.. now wait here..
After about 10 minutes he comes back with his ticket book in hand, still pissed at us and flatly states as he hands us our info.. everyone's' information is clean, now I could ticket each and everyone of you for trespassing on federal land, speeding and what now.. BUT I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TICKETS IN THIS DAMM BOOK SEE!!.. he shows us the book and it has a single ticket left in it.. NOW GET THE FUCK OUTA HERE AND DON'T LET ME SEE YOU BACK UP HERE UNTIL THE PARK IS OPEN.. have a nice day!
As for getting a ticket, I've gotten them solo but never with a big group. The last one was at deals gap last yr for passing and it was 2 of us.

The only time I was pulled over as part of a group ride (about 14 bikes), I was bumming because it turned out I didn't have my registration with me. When I finally realized after searching through my tank bag that I didn't have it, I looked up to see the cops getting back in their cars. Apparently they didn't count riders and bikes, and apparently assumed that b/c I'm a chick I was on the back of someone else's bike.![]()

You're not alone CBR Chick, I have a horrible driving record too...
Lost my license back when I was 22 for 60 days for 5 offences in 3 years and swore i was going to drive perfect from then on... I drove over 4 years without a ticket.
Then I got nabbed 4 times over a 3 year period and 2 of the tickets each had 3 offences on them so the RMV see's them as 3 offences, but insurance see's them as one whole ticket. Needless to say I after the first 3 offence ticket I had to go to the driving class, then I lost it for 60 days for the second 3 offence ticket for the 5 offences in 3 years thing again. then lost it again when I crashed my first bike 2 years later for another 60 days for 7 offences in 5 years.
Almost all of the tickets are speeding on the highway 10 MPH over the speed limit or less!!! The other ones are, driving in the carpool lane with only one person, driving in the breakdown lane (another ticket that was bogus because I was avoiding a tractor trailer that was comming into my lane), and rolling through a stop sign.
But the motorcycle incident it the only accident I have ever had that was my fault and that was more an issue with wet roads and some sand around a corner.

I ride like an old man, so I've only managed one ticket on the bike. I passed a guy in a no passing zone up in Hampton, because his car was burning so much oil it was filling my helmet up. Got the ticket, fought it in court and ended up winning (huzzah!).
It was an unsafe pass, and I did deserve the ticket. Should have just pulled off and waited a minute or two for the guy to move along.
I was riding home from a friends house just the other night and was pulled over right as I was getting off the highway. The trooper had got a report from another one that a bike "matching my description" had blown by him in a wheelie somewhere behind where I was coming from. I had to wait until the trooper who reported it came to identify me or let me go. Once he got there, he told me that he had me on camera, and that he was certain it was me who was the rider who passed him. They had me waiting there for almost 45 minutes, and I thought for sure that I was going away with a reckless driving summons, if not in handcuffs. This guy was completely certain in his mind that I was his guy. My girlfriend was right behind me in her car when I was stopped, so she pulled over right ahead of where I was. Her alabi was probably the only thing that kept me from getting in trouble.
