    Can motorcycle dealers order parts specific to VINs?

    I have this dopey 1999 Hayabusa and the left side front fairing is missing the Hayabusa symbol with red lettering. When I look up the part numer on cheapcycleparts or the like I get 3 options.

    .EMBLEM, LH FOR M9S
    68191-24F00-N3B

    EMBLEM, LH FOR M9T
    68191-24F00-N1G

    I assume that M9S & M9T are various paint or color scheme codes but I have no idea which mine is.

    This is the bike:



    If I call Bettencourts with my VIN, could they tell me the color code and correct part number?

    I think NO, serial # does not give any information like that

    does not even tell if its a California vs 49 state model
