I will be staying in St. Helena for a week in February 2016. While the trip will be a mix of vineyard tours, family-time, down-time, etc., I think we (2-up) can slip away for a day of motorcycle riding without being too antisocial.
Thus far, I have found only this (well-regarded) place right in St. Helena -- Welcome to Nieman's Motorcycle Rentals -- and two places down in the town of Napa proper, all of which rent Harley Davidsons. Not opposed to renting a Harley (and have had good experiences in the past) for the day but wouldn't be opposed to more options as well.
Thought I would check here whether anyone else has rented in that region and has any recommendations on places to rent, day-trip routes, etc. Would be interested to hear.
Thanks.

Nothing to offer on bike rental but stop by Inspiration Vineyards in St. Helena and say hi to my friends Jon Phillips and his wife, Barbara. They make the best pinot noir I've ever had and will treat you like family. Add it to your list, have fun.

I rented a BMW RT1200 WC in Germany this summer 2 up. It was fun and comfortable. You might have to go to San Fran to find one. I found this place on the web Rent a Motorcycle at Dubbelju in San Francisco, California Napa to San Fran isnt that far.

Good call Bruce - MotoJava in SF used to do rentals as well. Might be worth checking into. 30 miles/1- 1 1/2hr from SF to Napa.
