    A near half-K weekend

What a weekend! 325 Saturday, 156 today. Weekend total 481. It's been quite a while since I've put on that kind of mileage in a weekend.

Traffic was actually sane for the nice weather.

    Anyone put on 500+?

I'm about 420 miles short of 500 for the weekend...but I did wash my bike, and it needs to be washed again
My town thought it'd be a good idea today to grade the road, at 7am, with a snowplow, at what...double time and 1/2 pay? Needless to say, by the time I made it to the paved section this morning, the bike was already a pit

I think Mark is really a Harley rider in the body of a sportbike rider.

If i had a honda, I wouldn't wash it either. All the washing in the world still won't make it look good!

I've done 500 in a day few times. I usually do one long day ride a year.

    Re: A near half-K weekend

Chuck it was good to meet you and Frank on Saturday. We ended up doing about 350-360 on Saturday. We took vermont 100 up to Bethel. Then headed back southeast home through NH. I thought the roads were surprisingly clear of sand, frost heaves were still bad in some shady areas but other than that a great ride. I did another 75 or so yesterday to and from Easter festivities. That was my first ride on the RC since I bought it a few weeks ago and man it was fun (and sore!).

    Re: A near half-K weekend

I rode 210 by myself Friday then another 80 or so with the girlfriend on the back
Then we did 320-330 miles with her on the back Sat
Then another 260 or so yesterday...

That adds up to about 880 give or take since Friday morning. More than half of that the girl was on the back. Seeing the huge improvments of how she's handeling the twisties is more than worth it!

Damn, my bike needs an oil change!!!

About 200 miles each Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a V-Strom ride through the Adirondacks -- was planning on a longer ride, but the guys I was with had to be back mid-afternoon.

Sunday I did about 200 miles on the XR650L riding a combination of dirt roads and minor paved ones -- true dual-sport ride, with everything from Class 4 dirt with water crossings to paved twisties. Lots of fun.

I think I did around 300-400 this weekend. I have a feeling this is going to be a good riding season for me.

I agree with you there. My initial goal was to turn at least 40k on my bike this year. My first ride in January I turned 25k and I'm less than 200 miles from rolling past 28k now. I think I will easily surpass my 40k goal this year. Sounds good to me because I'm already starting to save for a new/2nd bike for next season.
