Does anyone know if you can title a bike bought in NH in MA?
I remember when I bought my KZ in RI they just wanted an old registration and bill of sale, and then they mailed me a new MA title.
Edit: Forgot to mention that the NH title has been lost.

Unless MA changed their laws you should have no problem just as long as you have the old registration signed over to you. When I lived in MA I did that with about 5 or 6 vehicles.

If it is newer than 15 yrs old you have to apply for a lost title through NH, or the person you bought it from does, then you can use that when you register, and they will issue a new title. If it is older than 15 yrs old you can just use the previous persons reg. , get a vin verification and mass will issue you a new title.![]()

NH has titles on anything newer than 15 yrs old and have had for as long as I can remember , but after fifteen yrs they stop issuing titles My brother lives in Mass and he has me help him get stuff titled frequently So I 'm pretty well versed in the game He builds street rods and custom bikes
The vin verifacation is easy , bring to any inspection station and they can verify the vin , or police dept. , I call locals and have them come right to the house and do it, not a big deal
I know NH requires a title for anything that is less than 15 years old. But every car I bought in NH when I lived in MA was titled and registered without any problem with just the old registration signed over to me. The MA RMV never asked me for a title on any of them, just as long as I had the old reg from the previous owner.

I find that hard to believe they can't and won't issue a title in 2 different states , it kind of a way to prevent you from being able to go but a new car from a dealer in NH register it, sell it, and take to Mass register it and get a clear title just using the NH registration. I think NOT
MA checks the VIN when you apply for the title. The registration acts as two things, a bill of sale and proof of ownership from the seller. If there is a lien on the car or it was reported stolen MA will see that when they run it in the computer. They also get the title status when they run the VIN, clear salvage....
