Found this on Hobby Lobby... they sell RC planes and copters...
Could be good on the bike.

For $99 looks to be pretty decent quality, see the sample.
Plus its light and small enough. I find my regular camcorder
vibrates too much and gets in the way of my riding.
I just might spring for this.

not bad.
i really wanna get a bendy pencil-mount lens thingy and some vid editing software (and maybe a comp that can handle said editing)
hurray, strikethrough!

when you do, post up a video
I've been using my canon SD1000 point-and-shoot camera along with a cheap CVS one-time-use camcorder, and they're both so-so
My mom bought my dad this one at sam's club for 90$, I'm not sure how well it works yet.

Ive been using the camera system from motocomm. It has worked awesome so far and it can be mounted just about anywhere. Its the DSR-100 from here https://www.rflimited.com/Site.asp?CID=3
These are both videos from it and I have a ton more including in the rain. The only thing I didnt get was my highside which Im disappointed about. I forgot to turn it on. The camera ended up near the bowl after I went down in T4 and survived.

The quality is lower on youtube then what you get out of the system itself. The only thing I bought was a 2gb sd card. Everything else came with the package.
Hmm... Looks like you could finagle that car adapter to deliver continuous power (?).
I didn't really read it all, but will it accept a bigger SD card? (i.e. more than 30 minute?). w/ a 2GB, they are saying you get 30 minutes of recording... I dunno how you plan to operate (leave the camera on, turn it on for specific passages), but 30 minutes isn't all that much video, especially once you edit it down. I guess it depends if you plan on using it for road or track.
I record on the road and here's two examples:
One is a continuous shot on a stretch of road that I wanted to record, so I knew when to start the camera:

And the other was a day of riding, turning the camera on and off at different points, but I got over an hour of video, edited down to 8 minutes:

What kind of camera do you use?
I figured with an SD card you could swap em in and out.
I would use it for the track so 30min cards are fine.
I like the rapid downloadability of SD. Much better than
messing with cueing tapes and going with firewire.

I use a JVC Mini-DV camera, which is, supposedly, not all that great because vibrations can mess up the tape. So far I haven't had any issues, and as you can see from the videos, the mount I use works pretty well (as far as vibrations).
If it's strictly for track use, and you can stop to swap out every 30 mins or so, then I don't see an issue going with the cam you posted. Heck, even if you were to take it on the road, if you want/can stop every 30 minutes to swap the cards out then I'd say that works. For me, I'd rather just let the camera run and do the editing afterwards, but not everyone likes to spend a couple hours working to produce a 5 minute clip.
I just looked at the cam again - How would you mount it? To the helmet? To the bike? I think you'll run into vibration issues if it's mounted directly to the bike. I'm not sure though.
I would not expect a good/decent video quality from any camera/dvr setup for under $200.
If you find one, let me know.

Ned
Tis true, Ned.
But when the final product is youtube (maybe 300x400)
then it doesnt really matter that much. I mean, its not like I want
to show my slow ass on ESPN HD or anything!
Also with all the vibration I find having a high quality camera
doesn't really make that much of a difference.

Well either they have some really good resolution or are recording to a odd format. I get hours on my 2gb card. Ive thought about upgrading to the highest resolution bullet camera I can find which would cut the recording time down but then I think whats the point the one I have does just fine.
