So yeah...I'm coming out of the closet (again). When ever I see someone riding an EX250 I get jealous. My first real street bike was a beat-up '79 CB750K. Then the R6, now the R1. Based on that and my off-road experience with smaller bikes (50cc, 80cc, 125cc, etc), I have this feeling that fun-factor of an EX250 would be mindblowing becuase you could totally tap-out the bikes full potential (well, maybe i could). Can someone either discount this or confirm that I *should* be jealous of 250's? small bikes are fucking cool. i dont care what anyone says.

Nah man, the EX250s are a blast, real fun to ride, very easy to just throw down, light and confidence inspiring underfoot. Though they seemed to me a bit springy in the shock department, didn't feel quite as planted in the turns as the bigger bikes and it was kinda bouncy on the highway over imperfections in the pavement. I hear the ZZR250 is a lot better in that respect, plus it's got the modern sportbike look. We should be jealous of the canucks that they got them this year.
I want Uma Thurman's ZZR from Kill Bill![]()
Also, Uma Thurman.
I can see the appeal as well; they could be a lot of fun being light and flick-able.
Also, it seems you can find used ones for a pittance - if you think it might be your flavor, go buy one - the cost about 20% of that R1![]()
I have mine...and I would think twice before selling it to get bigger...first because I feel I definitly do not have enough time on the saddle to try bigger. Second, exactly for all the reasons you mentioned. It is light, flickable, awsome in the curves, etc. and since I'm not into riding bikes for the speed...I don't really mind it's lack of power. Except for departures on green lights!! I LOVE to leave FAST on green, and I can't with the weak motor..![]()

i used to have access to an ex500... i used to "borrow" it all the time... coming from the aprilia falco, the thing felt like a moped but man could it hang on to the corners!!! That thing was fun to ride!

Bras cause cancer.
OREA HAS A GOOD POINT ABOUT THE ex500'S... mine is awesome at the track, although I know full well that I'm not taxing it yet... the only prob I have at the track is when I can haul ass through corners (realtively speaking, that is) and then i get hung up behind a more powerful bike poking through and then i absoutely cannot pass that bike on the straights... the straights-power is definitely lacking on my stock 1992 EX500... but cornering, I do just fine...and that's the fun part...

The fun factor of a motard is probably the best you're gonna get on the streetsBuy your favorite MX bike, get some 17" wheels for it, street legal lighting kit and you've got yourself a 230lb ride with 50hp
