ok now this morning was cold!
25 F according to my thermometer.

    Almost bagged it.
But the thought of being in traffic in the cage is just not
a what I want to do on a otherwise sunny day.

No electrics, just extra layers of clothes.

Straight water in the system kept me from riding in at 5:00 this AM OR else I would have ridden in.

Gene, Just keep the engine running 24/7!

Otherwise better change it soon before you have
a rock solid block and an engine case in pieces !
I'd think after last night you might have some damage already.
    Heated garage?

All 5 bikes in the basement @ a Constant 55 all winter long. Not a chance in hell would I keep bikes outside. Just me. I removed sections of insulation off the hot water heating system.

thanks. i go all winter unless the parking lot at work gets too crappy or if there is acctully ice on the road..

last night on my way to the gym i was getting grumpy because i thought the truck in front of me was dumping dust or something out of the bed.... but he turned off and i realized it was snowing... oops.. it wasn’t sticking so still went to the gym and all was good..

btw my new Pirelli Scorpion tire works great in the cold and in the wet..

Re: Okay... this morning, I was pretty cold

22 degrees this morning outside my house. The ride to work was actually kind of pleasant. The V-Strom is a great cold-weather bike because it has decent weather protection, and the heated grips keep my hands nice and toasty.

Re: Okay... this morning, I was pretty cold

So today I had to bring my bike from my moms back to my place since I just moved. It was 28 degrees and had a 15 minute ride, the ride was fine once I bundled up with the exception of my chin and fingertips after a while. If i have a neck warmer and heated gloves it would have been fine though. Still, too cold though haha.
