    Overpants

    Time for a new pair.

I will have to go with men's again since the women's sizes are so damn short.

Anyone have a brand that they like and why?

    Re: Overpants

I've owned a pair of Firstgear pants and a pair of tourmaster pants.

    Firstgear:

Pros: Build quality, good fit and finish.

Cons: Price. Weak armor (can be upgraded though)

    Tourmaster:

    Pros: good armor, cheap

Cons: bad fit and finish. Cheap side zippers that like to jam and come apart easily (can't imagine they would hold together in a crash)

So I'd have to recommend the firstgear pants. But buy some Tourmaster armor C.E. for them. Tourmaster armor is a great replacement for the cheap foam stuff that FG puts in their pants.

Are you looking for mesh or textile?

EDIT: Competition accessories is having a sale on Sliders brand overpants.

    Textile.

Looking for the warmth for the early morning and night riding, waterproof too.

Fit will be my biggest issue in finding something I presume.

I previously had the Firstgear HT overpants - liked them quite a bit until I managed a simple off-bike slip and fall - and tore the fabric at the knee. Given the very light impact etc it was a bit offputting!

I like the FirstGear stuff too. Road all day in the rain through West Virginia with these on, never got wet or cold, below the waist anyway .

The only downside is they don't breath well, if it is hot out you will sweat. But if you're looking for cool and wet weather they are a good option, had them for 6 years.

First gear HT overpants, held up well over the past 4 years and around 50K miles. Not vented, zippers work well, seem to be water proof and warm. Have not crashed in them so I can't vouch for there durability.
I changed the knee armor from the thick dual density factory ones to Knox CE and it was huge improvment in the fit. They also offer Tall sizes, although they are still a little short for me @ 6'2"...

I have several pairs but wear the Olympia MotoSports AirGlide the most.

    1. They zip up the side so they are easy to get on and off.
    2. Held up well in a 40mph crash.
    3. Decent CE approved knee pads (the biggest Aerostich ones are thicker - you can but them separately.
    4. Very nice insulated liner.
    5. There is several inches of velcro closure at the bottom so they can be easily tailored to the correct length.

Available in men's and ladies. The owners are husband and wife and usually answer email in a day or two.

These have good reviews....and they are on clearance for a great price if anyone else needs some...they are just way too short for me.

I have a pair of Hein Gericke pants. Full length double leg zippers for easy on-off. Waterproof/insulated zip out liner. Thigh pockets, knee armor, hip armor and adjustable velco waist tabs.

I can wear shorts on 40 degree morning and my bottom half is toasty warm.

A friend has a pair of Olympias and raves about them too b

What's your inseam? Try Revit!. They make female specific gear in various sizes. I like my sand jacket and pants. They are light with good warmth or good ventilation. They also appear durable.

Is that measured true inseam or is it pants size? Measured true inseam is usually shorter. Check out http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...size_chart_tab and their sizing video and chart. I would even give them a call. Great shop. Revit has tall sizes.

    Re: Overpants

I really like my Olympia overpants. As others have said, they're tough, well armoured (for textile), truly rainproof, warm, extra warm with nice liner, but above all a really good fit for my bony ass & chicken legs!
I'm 6' even, 175 lbs, the 32" waist size is a non sloppy fit.
I think they'll fit you, Jane.

    Re: Overpants

I've had very good luck with my First Gear HT overpants, they have a removable liner, so they are good for cold weather as well, never had a problem with them leaking in the rain, they still don't leak even with holes wearing in them (they easily have 150k miles on them ) but I plan on replacing them at Whitehorse Gear Open House

stay away from joe rocket, their stiching sucks

    Re: Overpants

    This fucking sucks....

The women's Firstgear is a 29" inseam even if I go up a full size....

The men's actually come in short, regular, tall.....except if you have a waist smaller than a 34"....then you can only be short. WTF!!!!

She's tall, but not OMG 6'5 or whatever tall. She does, however, have legs for days

I never thought that would be a negative thing until this thread.

Anyone buy into Diamond Gusset jeans? They have a motorcycle version that's got kevlar built into in them in the ass, knees, hips, like that. For the record, I ordered three pairs, ain't tried em yet (not that I wanna sample the protective properties of them). The link:

It's measured true inseam, not what is written on your pants. Measure your true inseam the way they describe it and you'll see you are likely less than 34".

+1 on the REV'IT! stuff. I have the Sand Jacket/Pants from '10. They're warm, waterproof (tested), have CE approved armor, and you can zip out the layers pretty easily for comfort.
