Does anyone what I could use to strip a piss poor paint job on factory panels without wrecking the integrity of the panels?
Aircraft stripper I'm assuming would be to harsh? Some had suggested oven cleaner?
Here a link if you don't already know why I'm asking:

Don't strip it sand it down there fore you are able to do it with out blowing thru the plastic......and any stripper will melt the shit out of them...

Hmmm, the few paint shops I have talked and recieved emails from all said they would "chemically strip" the panels?
The reason I don't to sand is I have a sneeky suspicson that the bike had some sort of vinyl graphics on it before it was painted. Which is causing the rough paint.
There is no guarantee the plastics are the same for each piece and will/not restrict the plastic melting from stripper.
I had good luck with the ready stip paste
Put it on cover with plastic come back in 4 hours and see
You might try an epoxy or kilz type primer that would form a barrier layer to paint below.

Ive used chemical stripper on plastic with no issues. The finish was crap underneath, but that's due to sanding the plastic before in prep for primer.
