Painting my bike...

I want a custom paint job on my bike and I thought that I might ask some of you if you know any places that do it and how much they typically charge?


EDIT: new thought - is it even possible to do something like this myself? Assuming I have the design and paint scheme that I want?

tape it up , and then use those design thingys and put it on the bike , then spray away on that spot or what ever
looks pretty easy on TV when they do it . . .

Depends on how you want the bike to look. If you have never painted before don't do it, because it won't turn out the way you think. Mike at Collisonpro does painting, and charges around $400 for a bike.

would it cost 400 even though I have a ZRX1200? There is a lot less to paint than on a normal sportbike. I was thinking more like 250-300 most. Didn't think that it would cost that much for so few parts. The plan is to have it all one base color (smoke grey) and then the tank would have 3 tribal x's (bold) and there would be some triabl work around it but I want the x's to be the focus. Thoughts? Still around 400?

Give Mike a call he might be able to do it less then $400, because you are right you don't have all the fairings on that bike. If you want something done that looks awsome Mike has a friend who does custom air brushing, and man he does good work. I thing to remember you usaully get what you pay for so don't try and go the cheap way when it comes to paint.

No it would be more then $400 for a paint job like that. The pic was posted to show you what kinda work both Mike and his air brush buddy can do.

JCzx12 is 100% right. It was by far the nicest paint job there. Of course I saw the bike as soon as it rolled in and was in awe, Then to find out that mike is the one who dii all the work him self blew me away.
