I wanted some rigid pegs for the tard and nobody makes them. figured I'd add some ground clearance while I was at it. An hour or so on the lathe and mill and they're done. Not very pretty, but they're functional... and replaceable (made a couple spares)... and those coarse knurls give a shitload of grip. Just thought I'd share.

thats what i liked about riding the motard though. the huge footpegs. they felt like floorboards.

What do you have for knurling tools?
"...i would seriously bite somebody right in the balls..." -bump909
I use the knurl holder that came with my QC toolholder. It sucks, to be honest... But it has more to do with the fact that my lathe just isn't rigid enough. I need to get the scissor-type knurling tool, but just haven't had the extra loot lying around and I knurl stuff so infrequently....
Here's what I need (and some quality knurls to go in it):

My home made foot pegs. The knurling on mine tend to get worn down and kind of get a little slippery. I’m going to try a smaller one then a larger one. I am guessing the larger one will be better.
My first time on a Tard, I could not get used to the floor boards. When I wanted to roll my foot towards the front of the peg I was feeling the sharp edge of the floor board awakedly bite into the bottom of the boot. Uncomfortable. The round one would have been better ... You got something good there.
Although If you plan on supermoto. I would probably stick with the boards. JMO

and from what I have seen you don't want them RIGID because they will snap the tabs right off the frame in a crash where as the ones that fols just klike shifters they fold up and don't get the brunt of the crash.......peg is much stronger than the frame<<<<
and belive me your not the first to do this and there has been many stunters that beat the tits out there stuff so they know best>>>>>after you go thru a few sets you buy these...

How many roadrace bikes have folding pegs? They crash every now and then, no? Are Gilles, Woodcraft, Harris, etc selling rearsets that break frames? Would you rather replace a peg or your engine cases?
Am I applying for a patent? Did I challenge someone to a pissing contest?
I never said I was the first to do anything.
my pegs still fold on the racebike.....

And by selling them to me you're enabling me to run off and dump a ton of money into my GS. : )
My coworker's first question on seeing them (arrived today) was weather or not I was going to sandblast them to get the purple off. No way, I'm rocking the mottled black and purple!
Now I need to get a set of 37mm clipons, brake pads, possibly rotors, tires, a battery, new air filter, change the oil and filter, fix the head and base leaks, fork seals, possibly new fork tubes, emulators, a shock...
