i lack the ability to let that shit go. for better or worse i'm fighting that fucking asshole crowbar or not. i may have ran into him when he got out of the truck. i'm not being a "tough" guy i just lack the sense to leave it alone. besides you let him get away with it and he kills the next guy.
You don't have to go to every fight you're invited to...

He possibly lives there and watches Moto's run by his house and kids at a high rate of speed on a regular basis, This is not to excuse his behavior. The guy acted irresponsibly on every level. The fact is this may have been a long time coming and these guys on the bikes were not going slow and crossing a double line. Prudence would have been better around those farm houses and homes and slowing down would be the more responsible way to go given their surroundings. I have seen a farm tractor just pull into the road in front of me out of a dirt road. I was going a reasonable speed and had enough time to slow On the other hand he could just be an Asshat also.
Fucking bikers.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Lead the miserable fugg down a road, an alley, a circle, a cul de sac, whatever. Dump the helmet, pull the 2-3/4" 686 populated with .38+P+ Gold Dot Hollowpoint ashtrays and offer the guy an opportunity ta fuck off. Whose world is this anyway, the bad guys? I don't run around lookin' fer trouble but this shit happens more and more fer corn's sake. As if a bike passin' this asswipe is talking money outta his pocket or somethin'. Downer.
anyone else hear the banjo music playing in their head while watching this too?

I'm not defending the truck drivers actions here but if you were a nonrider living in a rural area where sportbikes continually pass through at a high rate of speed that would end up pissing you off.

Because in a perfect world this wouldn't be an issue, but people do get angry, and on occasion they respond with acts like the truck driver did here.
I'll cross the double yellow all day long. BUT, I try to be sensitive to other cars on the road and follow them long enough to see if they are likely going to be aggressive.
People pretend that they don't get upset when they get passed by some yahoo on a backroad with houses/kids and he's pullin triple digit speeds.

The dickwad in the PU was completely out of control. But, I'll bet the cops would have a few questions about how fast the bikes were traveling when they came up on him and passed him.
Here's the problem. If the PU driver was justified in his anger at the bikers creating a risk to residents on 'his' road, he simply exacerbated the problem when he allowed his anger to engage. At that point, he was far more dangerous to others than the biker.
And that was the party that HE didn't have to go to...
Anger's a vicious beast...

I was trying to point out that bringing up the possibility of past anger makes it appear (whether intended or not) that there are mitigating circumstances to the truck drivers actions.
But I suppose if it could be proven it might also lend a hand towards premeditation argument and more severe legal repercussions.

I'm not saying he should have killed her... but I understand.

I'm defending his right to be angry. I'd be pissed to if some racerboys tried to turn the road in my neighborhood into their own little race track. It is a threat to my children every time they zoom through. Let me remind you that the bikers are the ones initially breaking the law. He just handled it the wrong way.

Here you are mitigating the truck drivers actions again. Considering the concern you have for the health and safety of your kids in a hypothetical illegal race track scenario, I'm surprised you aren't flat out condoning the driver's actions. These arguments always amuse me especially when you picture it in a court setting. "I reckon I'm innocent yo' honnor cause they dun broke the law first!" The only thing the bikers were doing wrong before encountering the truck was speeding. The truck crossed the double yellow before the bike did and continued to operate in the opposite lane for extended periods of time even when there was oncoming traffic.

What do you all anticipate the legal repercussions to be? I expect the truck driver to be pretty severely punished, but the bikers will have to receive some sort of violation too, right?

Regardless of the laws being broken by both parties, the thing I find most perplexing is how the driver of the truck is clearly pissed about speeding motorcyclists yet, here he his with a 700lb quad which is secured in the back of his pickup with what appears to be dental floss, operating in a much more dangerous fashion than the rider that passed him yet somehow he feels he is in the right?
