so heres the thing.... i'm buying a new Ducati this week and ive got a bit of dilema (spelled wrong i'm pretty sure)...... i have the chance to pick up one of the LAST Ducati S1000's for a damn good price.... a bike that i have wanted since the day i saw one. .....OOOORRRRR....... i have a chance to buy an '07 Parts Unlimited 999.. i know what your gonna say... go with the P.U. 999, its an easy choice... no it isnt. you see the S1000 is the bike ive always wanted.. the 999 is the bike that i love buut isnt truly me.. its what EVERYONE ELSE wants.... so do i go with my passion for the S1000 or the exclusivity of the P.U. 999.. ?????? Buy the bike that's for you, not the one everyone else would want. You'll get far more enjoyment out of owning a bike more suited for you.
This Ducati?
Yeahh...I can definatelly see your dilemna. Whatta beauty!!
sport classic FTW!
Go with the FZ1.

Buy what you want. Who gives a shit what everyone else wants you to have?

for what its worth the comfort is part of the deciding factor.. even just sitting on it the 999 is more comfy.. i equally like both bikes. and its not so much the everyone else wanting it .. its the exclusivity ... its one of 150 and its signed by Eric Bostrom and Neil Hodges for christ sake... the s1000 is however more my style ...
i like them both for different reasons..
thats what makes it difficult...
i wouldnt buy it because others want it.. i meant the exclusivity of it.
if only i could get them both.....

Just out of curiousity, what is it about the Sport1000S that makes you want it so bad? Is it the retro looks, the air-cooled engine, or the feeling of riding something "retro?"
And while I would never call a Ducati Superbike 'comfortable,' I'll agree with the others and say the 999 is much less taxing on the wrists and back.
i love the retro look.. i ride a 78 kz750 twin all cafe'd out now.. just always been appealing to me.
999...it'll be worth more down the rode, and it'll hold it's value better. Thee 999 is slowly but surely gaining cult status among motorcyclists

thats the other dilemma... resale. i know the 999 will hold value netter than the s1000
jeez....follow what makes you happy, if you get the 999, you will always long for your dream bike...the S1000...its a no brainer....and dilemna is with an N...that's another debate in itself.
