I guess the motorcycling Gods were smiling on me this week.
Some how the planets aligned just right and I managed to aquire some phone time with Mr. Lee Parks today!
Out of respect for the person that made this happen, I'm sparing the details on how this unfolded....but it happened and my answering machine has the proof!(Wait! I should clarify on this....he left me a message. I re-read what I just wrote it didn't sound right.)
I consider it a very high point in my experiences as a rider...the fact that Lee took time out of his day just to shoot the poop about his ARC as well as other subjects was very cool.
Today I talked to someone that has helped to push me futher than I ever expected I'd go as a rider and I cannot express in words what that phone conversation meant to me.
I'm still awestruck by all this...
So does this mean your looking for a race team???????![]()

Matt,
I thought that's why we were all going to Cornerspeed, no?
Even after all Lee's success, he's still seems down to Earth...which was an added bonus for me. You hear those stories of people gaining some fame and all of a sudden they're larger than life...not so with Mr Parks. He's still one of us based on my impression of him.
I called him when he was driving somewhere in the boonies in Indiana...bad reception for cell phones. He said he'd have to call me back when he got to a better area.
At that point I thought to myself "yeah right, like that's ever going to happen"...that is until I got back home from my ride and there was a message on my machine to call him back!![]()
How is his book? "Total Control-High Performance Street Riding Techniques "
Thanks Bergs - jeez I'm friggin old, I had to google what "LMK" meant! PM sent
Unless I missed something, the question unasked -- and unanswered is, why would you be talking with Lee Parks at all?
"A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”
Muhammad Ali.
Ah...
So, the motorcycle Gods looked down and asked themselves, "I wonder what we could do to make Paul happy?" then they smiled and said, "I know, let's get Lee Parks to call him right out of the blue and talk about...well, whatever they want to talk about!"
Then, suddenly, for know apparent reason, Lee Parks got the urge to call Paul Bergs - someone he had never heard of - and, miracle of miracles, he even 'somehow' knew Paul's number.
I can only hope that if they Motorcycle Gods ever smile on me they decide to offer me any 3 motorcycles of my choice. Now that would be a reason to believe in the Motorcycle Gods. (...how many are there , anyway???)

Dave, you seem pissy this morning.......everything okay?
I was speaking with one of the instructors about the ARC and I guess one thing led to another during that conversation and I was given Lee's number and told to call.
He had bad recepetion when I called so he offered to call me back.....I had thought "Yeah right! He's not calling back..." but he did!
EDIT: I still have no idea as to the exact reason why I was given Lee's number, so if that's what you're chasing for answer, I don't have it.
I suppose certain questions I had about the ARC turned into one thing leading into another....
You've had better performances...
