just wondering if anyone carries while riding, im thinking of packing, or atleast getting a big knife when riding at night now, reason, my brother was almost robbed 2 nights ago, at a stop light and it kinda freaks me out that it can happen, and i want to atleast have somekind of protection what do you guys think?
I think that would just make things worse. If you had a gun...maybe they have one too. Would you really want to deal with a situation like that? Is your life worth risking?
to be honest i would be pumped to see some clown take my bike. insurance would cover it and you get to buy something new
All strippers SHOULD have fake tits!
Even if you were carrying, use of a firearm against someone only comes in to play if you feel your life is in danger. If someone approaches you demanding your wallet, bike, car, etc do you really feel that pulling your gun and shooting the person puts you in a better spot than if you had let them go with a few of your easily replaceable posessions? And keep in mind this is coming from a gun enthusiast/holder of a CCL.
l3uddha's got it right. You don't want that on your conscience if you think you had to use such a weapon, when you really don't. I wouldn't go as far as a taser, but pepper spray is your best bet. 90% of petty criminals, if they are armed with a deadly weapon ie. gun or knife, don't want to use it for what its ment for but only for fear and domination. They want an easy snatch and grab then take off, not have to deal with murder charges if caught. The pepper spray should give you piece of mind to give you the time to use it and get away and report the incedent. As hectic as the situation will be just try to stay calm and remember details. But at the end of the day its like the others have said, is it really worth risking your life over something that can be more easily replaced than you yourself.
My mission in life is to live forever and damnit I'll succeed or die trying!!
the taser sounds like a good idea..and the assult riffle too..lol
I'm always packin... you just don't know it.

Durex is the way to go!
I have had a license to carry for some time now and have only on a couple occasions had it with me. (i.e. - carrying large amounts of cash to make a purchase of a vehicle/bike/equipment with someone or for myself) Once you have the legal ability to carry a firearm, you think of different instances and what could happen and if its really worth it.
They taught us that if your willing to carry a firearm, willing to pull it on someone, you better be willing to pull the trigger and know the consequences, if you cant pull the trigger, the other person will, resulting in, well, you get the picture.

I will sometimes carry if I know I will only be riding in NH and/or VT since I do not have a concealed carry permit for MA or ME (yet).
Having said that, if I feel the need to carry to feel safe in any particular town or neighborhood but I have the option to avoid the area entirely, I will do just that.
I think you need to have a permit for pepper spray in MA. At least I think you did back in 01-02ish. I bought some in CT at the time and threw it away after it sat unused. If I were you, I'd strap a samuri sword to your back and most shouldn't fuck with you.
