Yup. Lucky he didn't look at me cross or I woulda slapped him silly for being a jerk!
He was coming up Rt.2 in an unmarked town Explorer. I looked back when merging, no traffic for at least 200 yards and ripped up a couple gears. About a mile later I got off the highway. He said he saw me get goin, tried to catch up to me but was unable to. He followed me off onto Rt.140 and caught up to me there where I was doing a reasonable speed. He was nice about the whole thing, reasonable and explained why it was a bad idea. I agreed and told him that I did know better. He also asked when the last time I got a speeding ticket was and I was happy to say the last time I had a ticket on my record was 10 years go.
Can't complain, I was fully expecting a ticket. He estimated my speed relative to his own. He asked me how fast I thought I was going and I was honest with him (over 85 at least I said).

wow how did ppl not pick up on that... i mean I had to read it twice but at least I was smart enough to pick up on it...![]()
Just in case anyone else can't see the obvious differences between situations, let me spell it out for you.
I'm not picking on Degs. His situation was different from mine and I agree with how he handled it. Not that it matters, but I figure I don't want people thinking I'm taking a jab at him. I'd do the same thing if I was put in his position.

Lol, I laid it on thick, but it's all true. The missus and kid are doing great, BTW.
...and you're right. The whole thing was bogus. I told nef how to fight it. I think there's a pretty good chance of Ryan and jacob both getting not responsible findings if they approach it in the right manner.
It cost me a day off work when I could least afford it and probably $30 in fuel and $10 in parking. bullshit, but what can you do?
If found not responsible, you should get a flat $25 or so for your time wasted by the state.
I was tempted to ask for a court date just so I could question the cop in court, but nowadays there's too much chance that the judge and the cop are buddy-buddy and then you lose.
derek
Each situation has a different level to reach to determine "guilt". Shorter distances for lower speeds and zones..........That's why "thicky Settled" on an older MA sign means something. Check the DMV drivers' manual.
