I myself have made the plunge to a short hair cut. I have usually hated short haircuts but soon realized it was because I was completely incompetent at styling them. Well, few youtube videos later I own a flat iron and a pretty stylish 'do! and no more epic hair tangles. Though I do miss the waving ponytail....always a signifier of a girl rider. Now I look like a faggy guy with tight pants on

the cure for helmet hair is to put the helmet back on and keep riding.

I never had "long" hair, but when my hair gets too long for me, i just wear a bandanna. That way you can semi-flatten your hair and keep it in one place when you take your helmet on and off. i would wake up with crazy bead head, throw on a bandanna and head to work. by the time i got there, my hair had usually flattened out. I have always found the form fitted (more like a durag) bandanna to always be the most comfortable and stylish.

I use to do pig tail braids BUT i just recently cut my hair short so now I don't have to worry about it anymore and it is liberating! Just keep it short! mine rests on my shoulders and it doesn't get full of knots

Loose low braide and I bring a sports hat. But I've learned long ago that I don't go riding in the hopes of looking pretty when the helmet comes off. You will get helmet hair, no matter what. Girls taking off helmets and shaking their hair loose, looking like they just came out of the hairdresser...that just happens in movies. LOL

I went riding a few weeks ago with loose hair...biggest mistake. It took me tons of conditioner, I was actually afraid I would have to get my hair cut. I have VERY long hair and curly. Never again.

I've always rocked a chin-to-shoulder length style (depending on the time of year), and just don't worry about what it looks like. If i am concerned, I bring a hair tie or something and pop into a bathroom when I get to where I am going to touch up or put up. Other than that, if I want to look nice, I take the car. Then again, I don't style my hair, so it always looks like crap

Unfortunately could never cut my hair that short...actually my hair is extremely long lol
used to do the pigtail frenchbraids but now just rock either the low bun or low braid...works for me!

ive been dealing w the same thing... i have really long hair and it never looks coming out the helmet...and the ppl i ride w always wanna go out to places where i need to look half way decent. i tried putting a bobby pin on the top and then in a low pony and tuck it in my jacket or a half pull thru. *sigh* poor hair..
