I own a pair of Vanson perf sportriding pants. The issue I have is the leather material behind the knees is too bulky and actually causes discomfort after awhile in the saddle. I have contacted Vanson about this and they could patch in kevlar/spandex material behind the knees to alleviate the problem. Makes sense to me, however they want $78,352 (approximately) to do it.... clearly more than the pants are worth.
I've thought about having a local leather/taylor type person do it for me, but where can I get the material?? Any advice?
Thanks.

It kinda sounds like they need to be altered to fit you a little better. I have their Sportrider pants (not perfed) and I ride a TL-R. But I don't have the same problem you're describing. Alterations would be my first guess...
If you chose to go with the spandex-type material, I'd check locally first. Yeah, Vanson can get expensive. But they're wunna the best in the business. I'd make sure a local shop knows what they're doing and/or what quality of a garment their dealing with...
And, um...welcome! There's a thread just for you in the 'Welcome & Intro' area...![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I have the Vanson Street and Track combo, but where they are custom fit I don't have that problem. Don't quite know where you got the $78,352 price from, but that much could fit the entire NESR with full racing leathers.......

Vanson's new Technical pants have addressed this exact issue, the replaced the back of the knee and calf with keprotech... it makes a world of difference.
Barnicle Bill's would probably be a lot cheaper. Give them a call.

Thanks fellas.
Vanson estimated $120 + materials. That's almost half of what the pants cost me so it doesn't seem worth it. I may call Barnacle Bill and see what he has to say. Thanks again.
