Last weekend when Corser lowsided in the 1st lap of race two at Eurospeedway he held onto the handlebar grips through the entire slide. Why would he do this? Given his experience, I'm certain it was deliberate. My only guess is since it was a fairly controled slide and he was in the lead he wanted to stay with the bike as best as he could to rejoin quickly if possible, but its seems like you save a few seconds at the risk of serious injury.

If you truly love your bike let it go... If it comes back to you, you prolly high sided.
I have always been told to let the bike go. Worse things seem to happen if you try to stay with it.

Karloff? Sidekick? FUCK YOU!! That cocksucker does not deserve to smell my shit!
thats exactly my point. I'm sure he has been told this his whole career as well. And its not like he just forgot. So why would a world champion hold on??

I really can't think of a single decent reasonI didn't see the crash, but could it be that he was trying to push the bike back up w/ his knee or was he COMPLETELY down & off the bike?

No but EFI bikes have a magic tilt sensor that shuts the bike off when it's on it's sideOriginally posted by SVRACER01

I only had one street/track get-off and quite a few offroad get-offs, just let it go, especially in the dirt![]()

It was definitely to keep it running. WSB regs require a tip over switch that cuts the engine when it's on it's side. I believe the rider can prevent this from happening if they keep their hand on the throttle. Apparently Corser does not have a starter on the bike...
