Good looking motorcycle with some sick (on paper) performance numbers.
I dig it..

GO TO TONY'S TRACK DAYS!
I'm Bikeless.
I'm not getting my R6 from Razee's. For some reason they feel it's OK to send a long time customer somewhere else to in search of a discount so that's exactly what I didOriginally posted by katana0215

yeah they seem to be getting more and more cheap as the days pass. I rude with a large group of guys and we buy all our parts and in most cases our bikes from Razee. And it seems as time passes they are less and less likely to cut us a break. So I just go there every Saturday and take their free coffee and donutsOriginally posted by R7

I have dibbs on the first blue one that comes in to my dealer but I will more than likely need to sell the 600RR first, though I was debating keeping it as a second bike but it almost seems a waste.
The important things are sourcing the race parts to put it on the track. Ohlins has a shock out already and there are exhaust systems from graves and akropovich. I'm sure scotts/ohlins will get the dampener mount made pretty quick. Gravs is also working on the velocity stacks as we speak. The thing I have been having an issue finding is the race bodywork. Might be a mad dash in another month to get ready for the races. Something I'm not too fond of but that's life with a new model I guess.

I'm leaving the stock bodywork on -- it's lighter.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
Are you sure about that? How can you say that when no one has even produced anything for it yet?Originally posted by ChR1s

PLUS, the compostite is different. The stock stuff isusually made out of ABS plastic whereas the aftermarket is either fiberglass or an expoxy resin that is half as thik and twice as flexible.
The other thing is....Weight reduction comes in the form of removing the light assembly front and rear.
And the most important thing is, the cost to replace the stock upper and headlights far exceeds the cost of a full set of race glass.
And last but not least, many tracks will require a full belly pan. Loudon is the only track that doesn't require a lower.

Yah but it really ruins your day when you get pulled over and the bike has race plastic and no lights.![]()
I think your light is out.
We, or at least I, am talking about putting this bike on the track.
And for the record, both of my racebikes also have license plates. I have PIAA lights with quick disconencts for occasional street use. I also made LED license plate brackets with quick disconnects.

In most cases they require a full belly pan, I think Motards are one of the only exceptions to the rule??Originally posted by Onedwn5up

There was a nice review in the recent RoadRacing World. I'm gonna need to take a ride on one. A 17.5k redline has gotta be a ball. I am also really interested in the aftermarket pipes for it. It'll be nice to see what the mfg. come up with. I wonder what the effect of the catalytic converter, being directly under the shock, will be though.

Yamaha already has race kit parts available...if your willing to shell out the $$$$. It is by limited orders and from what I read will be a 3 month delivery.

I have seen ducati monsters and ex500's as well as a handful of other bikes without lowers there. There big concern seems to be case covers. Kinda odd since you would think if they are so concerned with breaking case covers and leaking oil on the track they would require lowers.Originally posted by R7

seems like the full system is the way to go with the new R6. The stock system weighs 19.25 pounds and the Graves full system, stainless headers, Ti can, weighs in at 8.25 . Pretty substantial difference to say the least.
The cats don't matter on these bikes that much. All the new bikes have them. My 05 600rr has it right where the slip-on attaches and it doesn't seem to have much effect on things at all. Difference with a full system is like 3hp.
As far as the position of the cat near the shock....if it's not close to the reservoir or main shock body (which I don't think it is) there won't be any effect. The friction of use creates the heat that really effects it the most anyway. If you look at Traxion Dynamic's web site you'll see that Max even developed a "shock warmer" in order to bring up the temp ahead of time, since he theorizes that the heat creates dampening & compression loss over the course of a race or extended use. I partially subscribe to that theory but don't really get too into it since most people make their adjustments when they come right off the track and they remember what it was doing last, not first. But if you tune to make it work while hot it will behave different when cold, hence the warmer to get it to work consistently.
Anyway...just rambling here on a tangent.....
