Has anyone done the R6 throttle tube mod on their 1st or 2nd gen SV?
Here's a small description:

I have the same issue this article describes with my CBR and the long throttle throw.
Any benefits? Good? Bad? Ugly?
Did it to my 1000 a couple of years ago and love it. No re-grip to get WOT.
I'm probably gonna do the same thing to the SV. I'm gonna wait until i trash the brand new grips I just put on since I don't want to sacrifice them yet.

Yup, I did the same thing to my old gixxer. Love it.
Just make sure you tell anyone you let ride the bike. Especially if it's a young kid that's never ridden a street bike before...
a must have mod!

did it on my 07 SVS. couldn't imagine going back. in fact i might even look into a 1/6th turn since i've heard rumors that a different model R6 can be modified, albeit slightly more in-depth.
the dremeling in the canyon chasers mod is hardly technical, though...
hurray, strikethrough!

I don't know what stock turn is on a ZX9, but whatever it was switched to (im thinkin 1/6) was enough to cause a surprise in one instance i know of...
Of course, the zx9 was good for at least 190HP. After all, it had a power commander and a pipe and stuff...

Yeah, I was using this new electronic typewriter to share humor on these interwebs I'm trying out. I mean, every ZX9 with bolt-ons is pushing 200HP, just check craigslist. Did I mention my KX125 with the wiseco top end, pipe, silencer, and all the other goodies is good for 125HP? @ the wheel, too!
(I didn't think it'd be as funny if I said 500HP, I though I exaggerated enough.)

I just got my throttle tube today. I've already gone from a stock GS throttle tube to an SV650 unit to shorten the travel. I'm working on the assumption that if the SV tube fits, then the R6 unit should as well, and shorten it up a touch more. Out of 2, 10 and down the front straight it's a PITA to get my arm around enough for proper WOT, I'm sure I'm not always on the pin when I need to be...
Did it to a friends 1st gen, piece of cake and it was an immediate difference.
knew about it years ago. did it year before last and couldnt figure out why i waited long
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
