That sounds really good. I had no idea. I don't have AAA though.
Get ama instead. They cover any thing related to bikes.
Last October a few stayed with me and ate like kings, got wet in a pool and slept literally like babies.... Sav I have the bed for you... oh did I mention a walk thru the biketoberfest and the PLACE THAT SHALL BE NAMELESS..

Gino that would be awesome. Hope we get to talk discuss this more in depth because it could also make the difference between going or not.
If you ever have the option to stay with Gino's parents, do so. They are some of the nicest, most generous people you'll meet. It's pretty much worth the trip to Florida just to hang out with them.

I'd go again just to hang out with them. Unbelievable people. 5 star accommodations.
Another vote for Gino's parents being the best hosts ever!
Nemo's Pizza is so good. You have to go eat there. Dessert next door!
Sav you may have to go there to figure out what your Pizza joint should aspire to!

FWIW I've never paid more than $250 for a round trip to J'ville. Best time to buy is 30-45 days out from your trip. Too early they won't drop prices, too late demand is too high. If you don't have one, get a JetBlue AmEx. 20k points for signing up and spending $1000 in the first 3 months...that's enough to cover upwards of a $350 round trip.
If the free place works out I'd be all over that for sure, "if it's for free, it's for me!" I'd look into RV's that have low base rate and high mileage rate, assuming you're only putting a couple hundred on there and back. IMO infield camping > hotel. Save a ton of money cooking for yourselves rather than eating out every meal.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Any suggestions on RV rental packages?
Gino is it realistic to expect you to go again?
Nothing specific, unfortunately. I've always had a friend with one and never had to rent. The RV game is sketchier than the used car game. I'd look to the first guy not wearing a hair piece, gold chain, and polyester pants.
Seriously though, there are hundreds of RV dealers in that area, I'd target a few in the area of your airport and see who has the best deal. Everything is negotiable.

If any of your family or close friends has it you could "mooch" off of them. You should be at least able to go with the Triple AAA member to the local branch to get some information and guidance. Not sure if allowed, but if they can give you good info, you might be able to book under the member's name with you as an extra driver if you're picking up/dropping off locally. Might be worth the extra driver charge, might not. Can't hurt to investigate it though if looking to pinch pennies, which I know I would be doing!

Ideas for hotel near the track? Red roof inn quality is fine. Pricing is important but would require I. Room bathroom with shower. Idc about TV or wifi or fancy stuff.
Savas, we need to talk. I am trying to find a way to make this happen for this year.

Savas, book your hotel soon before they fill up. I just booked mine.
Remember that it's also bike week (Biketober Fest) at the same time, so all the hotels in Daytona will be booked and expensive when it gets close.
I want to go so bad this year! but realistically two kids and wife might not let me. But if by any chance i do get to go i will be driving and i will gladly haul your bike for you. Question does Daytona have showers like Loudon. If the family and I sleep in the trailer can we shower at track?

thursday's practice is like $225 pre-reg. the school is $275 i believe. you'll get four 15 minute sessions, which will be about 5 laps each session.
races are about $100/each and they're 5 lap sprints. Friday is the vintage races, so you'll just be doing the morning practice sessions, then you're done for the day. the ASRA races are 7 laps. the only fuel at the pumps are Sunoco 260 GT at $9/gallon, or the supreme stuff which is more. there are no VP vendors there, so bring your own shit. make sure you take your empty cans with you. garages are small, like the size of the NJMP garages with no tables. so you'll need to bring your own. they make you back your trailer in front of your garage. the Daytona tires were about $550/set. i got thursday practice, like 5 morning practice sessions, three or four 5-lap sprints, two ASRA qualifies, and two ASRA 7-lap sprints on my tires. if i did another race, i would have needed another rear. i think my best lap was 2:07, if that helps with tire wear.
this might help you learn the track. it's very easy to learn.
one thing to remember, is they make everyone leave the track at 6pm. the gate is closed and locked up. so do your tire/gearing changes fast at the end of the day.
I won't be running dunlops so no need for a Daytona special tire. My tires will be mounted ahead of time from here and one set should be able to let me do all the races I want.
Gearing will be tough to figure out but I'll have a better idea after jersey.
Schedule is not out yet is it? There's no racing for me Friday?
no, you NEED to run Daytona tires. Pirelli usually sells Daytona tires too. you cant run the same stuff you use at NHMS. they'll melt after a few laps. Every tire vendor makes a tire made for the banking at Daytona. Has nothing to do with Dunlop.
schedule is out usually 4-6 weeks before the event. no races for you on friday. it's all vintage and side kart stuff.
