Is it a good idea to sell off your race take-off's to a street rider?
Pro's? Con's?

I used to run dot race Pirelli Corsas - they were super cheap and worked well enough for my trackday pace.
I had some issues with grip when they were cold - at some speeds/temperatures they would never really warm up. The biggest issue I had was wet weather riding - they sucked.
I now run street multi compounds and spend more $ but they work sooooo much better in all conditions.
My .02
No cold grip, usually used up all the heat cycles, only tread in in the center... Sure sell em to squids, natural selection with a little help.
We keep em until the classic and sell em to the guys doing burnouts up on animal hill. IMHO that is all many take offs are good for.Just my opinion.

Uh-oh...
The rear is a 180/55
The front is a 120/70
They're Metzler Racetecs. I honestly don't know how many heat cycles they have as I bought my bike with them on already and changed them out immediately. If are still interested I'll give them to you cheap. I just want them out of my sight and I don't want to pay to have them disposed of (yes, I'm that cheap).

Are any of the NESR guys going to be @ MMC on the 26th? I could just give the tires to them and they could drop them off for you. Your call.

I'll throw them in the trailer right now. Have them track me down. Just look for the ugly blue and neon orange ZX6R.
I usually run Saxman's take-offs on my Tuono.... and his tires don't exactly go slow around the track.
Yes, they suck in the rain
Yes, they're a little slippery when cold, but after a few miles I usually have no problems.
Yes, they may offer a little less grip than street tires as they're not reaching their optimum operating temperature.
but they're dirt cheap and perform great when I bring the T up to a track day![]()
