Randy - great seeing you again Saturday! Here's a thread about the Strom sidecar rig I wanna do for mine. Plus, it morphs into the car tire mounting you wanna do.
General 205/55ZR-17 mounts right up and just works.

Makes me wonder if he has enough juice to run the headlights on the hack.

What's next - V-Strom trikes?![]()
All these years of GSXR's and one of those 5.5's can't bolt up?
Last company that I heard of widening wheels was Kosman.

yup, Kosman is the place
from my research a Bandit wheel would work best, still there is a lot of precision measuring and custom spacer machining as well, possibly machining caliper mounts etc.
if I just get a wheel widened, everything else remains stock, making it easier to swap back to a stock wheel

my office manager had his Escape in for tires today, I had to pick him up and drop him off, while I was there (Hervey Tire) I got a price on a General Exclaim 205/55-17 ($105) and a studded Nokian Hakka 5 205/50-17 ($180)
I have about 1000 miles of tread left on my current TKC80 rear, pretty sure I'm going with an Exclaim until winter, if I like the Exclaim, I may buy a new Hakka 5 instead of putting a 50% worn studded Karoo T when snow flies
