I've had PilotRoad2's for over 17 months now... 14,000 miles on the front and it JUST NOW started to get a bit of scalloping... I had one rear for 8,000 miles did a couple burn outs and well... needed a new one, so my current one has been on there for 6,000 miles and it's just now starting to flat in the middle.
Granted this is on a 500lb dual-sport that sees A LOT of highway commuting/hooliganism on the rear wheel.

16k? Awesome.
This is part of why I downsized from a 'liter bike' to a 650.
Avon makes a great tire. I had a set of Azaros that lasted me 13K. The Azaro was replaced by the Storm and now the Storm ST, dual compound, which are now on Annalisa's CBR.
They're great in the wet and dry and have plenty of grip. Not sure on mileage yet, as they on;y have a couple thousand miles on them and still look brand new.
