Reminder - MA Inspections

Did mine Friday. No-Reading Motorsports. No issues.Got there at 10:30 am. One bike in front of me and a good line forming by the time I left. Plenty of stickers.

Question on this. Failed my inspection on about 30 days ago, but have since fixed the problem. Since I only had 15 days to get it re-inspected, and I'm now well over that mark, do I HAVE to go back to the same place?

They have me a little rejected notice and had the sticker number written on it. I don't want to give the place my business as I don't like the snide comments they made while I was there as well as other reasons.

Can I get a sticker somewhere else, or not?

sure you can. As long as you have fixed the issues you were rejected for. I do believe now it's computerized that everyone can see why..

I sure hope so. The last two times I've gone back to the place that rejected me, they have been closed during their posted business hours.

I agree, and I'm considering just skipping it this year and taking my chances, but I'm seriously hoping that one of the forum members that works/owns a place that administers motorcycle inspections can chime in with some insight.

Last ditch effort here guys, need some insight before its damn the man.

How about you just call another place, explain the situation and ask them directly?

They are the ones that know the rules for sure.

When I go to Bettencourts Honda/Suzuki Dealer I an in and out in like 3 Min.

I first pulled in and the guy in front of me goes nice line HUH. I replied " it must be all these slow Harleys. Little did I know I was right. The Harleys were in their for 15 min-20 min each.

Sure is easy. The question is since I was failed by a douchy place, and they reported this failure to the state and I've apparently been assigned a sticker through them, do I HAVE to go back to the douchy place for said sticker?

I was told by this place that I had 15 days to bring it back for re-inspection or else I have to pay the full fee (paid half the fee for the failure).

I have since took the bike to East Coast Powersports, who was out of stickers, but said that they don't think I can go anywhere else because I've been assigned a sticker, but weren't 100% sure.

Am I bound to the sticker that I initially tried to get? Is this number now associated with my registration for the year?

I'd say go back and be done with it and call it lesson learned.

I can't imagine you're bound by any sort of contract to go back there. I say take it somewhere else.

Last time this happened to me, they charged me full fee, failed me, and said come back in 15 days and if it passes we won't charge you a second time. That made a lot more sense to me. But I haven't gone back to that place because they failed me for worn tires that easily had another season in them.

If you go back, they will give you a sticker. You already paid them the 15 bucks.
Go somewhere else, you can pay the 15 all over again and get a fresh inspection.
