Well.........UHaul is 20 bucks + 1.40 a MILE, so thats out (gotta travel 200+ miles), I dont trust my work van farther than I can throw it, and dont really know anyone with a truck, or anyone that would loan me a truck. I know its a far stretch, but is there anyone in the North\Western Mass area looking for a case of beer/lunch/money/gas money or all of the combined for a "ride" down to Johnston, RI and back, to pick up my first bike?
Seems like everyone here is pretty generous, seems like a long shot, but you never know unless you ask. If I cant find anyone to help, I'll be forced to attempt the drive in my 1998 Ford E-250 work van that gets 10mpg and shakes like a polaroid picture after 55mph.I mean, whats life without a little adventure?
So I'm in actuality looking for a ride from Greenfield, MA to Johnston, RI on whichever route you see fit. I'll pay for the gas money, buy you lunch, and throw in 50-100 bucks or something to that effect. I'm looking to get a start about 9-10am, I know beggers cant be choosers, but figure I'll lay it out in case anyone is interested.
Hopefully the weather sucks so you wouldnt feel inclined to be out riding anyways.

PM me here, email me at jlacoy82@comcast.net, or ask me for my #.
If I didn't have a semi-problematic 1993 ranger to offer in lieu of the 1998 vanI'd be game for it..or if the ranger even had a/c I could at least consider it
Good luck tho, I'm sure someone here will help you out.
what kind of bike are you getting?
if it was on sunday i MIGHT be able to help![]()
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Which you could do if you really wanted, I'd let you. lol I could drive down, pay for it, load it up, and follow you back to MA, drop it off, and then you'd have to drive back to RI by your lonesome.

There is no way you could get the bike on Friday to make it for the Saturday ride?
If you are getting your bike on Saturday, let me know if you intend to stop by our place for the BBQ! (not before 5:30pm tho, as we should be back from the ride around that time)![]()

I've NEVER ridden before, even if I were to get the bike friday, theres no way I'd dare take it on the road until I take my MSF anyways.Originally posted by MissTwisties

I'll take pictures of it and people can digitally oogle my bike on my camera if you want though? lol
I may have a member here that may be helping me out, waiting to hear back from him. (mcbgti) Will owe him a HUGE thanks if it works out.
True...I forgot about that....wise decision not to try to go on a long ride for now..LOL

Oh the irony...........my fears of driving my van too far did not go unfounded! Today the #1 cylinder spark plug died, as well as the EGR valve and the ignition coil.Oh well, they had me drop it off at a Ford dealership, and 4 hours later, good as new, its all ready for its ride across the state now. (I hope). lol
