Any riders from Maine?

I'm moving up to Maine in a couple of weeks, the Brunswick area, from Western Mass. and I was wondering if there are any riders from Southern Maine on here.

Yup, I'm up here in Maine...Not too far from Brunswick, in So. Portland...Can't wait for this snow to go away!

So what can you tell me about the sport bike thing up there? Are there many people up there that ride? Any group rides? Bike Nights?

I can only say from my perspective, that the sportbikes scene up here is limited...There's a BMW club up here and a Maine European Motorcycles Enthusiasts group (MEME) that get together for rides, but I haven't found a sportbikes group...

Events are limited too...Reynold's Motorsports usually has a Crotch Rocket Show, Owl's Head usually has an antique bike show...There's a Toy's For Tot's run...MEME usually has a motorcycle meet for european bikes...You can usually find a few bikes down at Old Orchard at night on the weekends (but that has dwindled since they passed the no cruising law, and the exhaust noise ordinance law which are pretty much up to the officers discretion)...

I've been riding up here for 15 years, and I have not found a bike night yet...Maybe I'm not looking in the right places

When I go out, it's usually by myself (all my friends sold their bikes) or I go for a ride with my dad...When I'm out riding on a nice day on the weekend, or at night, it is pretty rare to see too many other sportbikes...I see a ton of cruisers, most of which don't wave to sportbikes...It is also rare to find anyone that knows what a TLR is...I get a lot of strange looks when I'm sitting at lights...People can't figure out where the deep rumble is coming from...

If someone knows of some here in Maine, let me know...

There's a small community around the Camden area, but you're looking at about an hour and a half to get up there. I think many of them meet out of Reid's Cycle in Northport (http://www.reidscycle.com/), but now your going twenty minutes north of Camden. It's the best that I can do.
