I am happy to report that the ol' Monster started right up today, after four months sitting. Didn't even need the starting fluid; just pulled out the choke, turned the key, and hit the starter. Riding season begins this week!

Many more miles to you and yours, Phil! That bike is so impressive to me.

I've been out for a few weeks. Cold weather and all

Phil- In all seriousness, I thought you ride all year long.
Took a few starts to get the TLS running, but once going it ran pretty good. I went out for a quick ride around town on Saturday afternoon. I wasn't the only one either.

Yeah, we had about 2 inches of tiny hail piled up in the driveway, so stuck in the car today again. It wasn't terribly cold, so I could have started it, but it was slush all the way to work.
In San Diego, I sure did. I'm not too concerned about the temperature, but ice is bad for maintaining good verticalness, so I do put it away once we get real snow and ice all over everything.

Roads were hellish until I got to about Exeter. 25 MPH conga line all the way down the state highway to 101. Eff this. I've had enough!
Cars spinning to the left and right this a.m. on the way to work.
Must have passed 1/2 dozen in the embankments between Concord and the 93/293 split north of Manchester.
Soooo done with winter.
I think the road crews agree, hence the road conditions. On one hand that sucks. On the other hand, these roads have seen enough salt and sand.
I'm not the only one who decided that today was the start of riding season. I saw a dozen bikes on the way home from work today (5 Harleys, 4 Honda sportbikes, 1 Kawasaki 250 Ninja, 1 metric cruiser of some sort, and 1 Ducati 748).

One more week. One more week. (I think.)

Rode a bit last Saturday. Saw most bikes out today than I have so far this year.
I haven't started riding yet. Probably will make a go of it this weekend after the rains this past weekend. I just can't take the bike out with any sign of salt/sand on the roads. Soooo looking forward to getting some miles in though this year. Winter has been oh too long.
As Geno said...game is on! 31 when I left this morning...67 mile commute. I wanted to pass right by and keep on going.
New Twisted Core winter base layer is fantastic.
I rode a few days in January and February, but March was a bust until last week. Finally, this week spring has begun. Had an appointment in Burlington (VT) this afternoon; took the long way home because it was gorgeous out. 100 miles later, I finally pulled into my (very gooey) driveway.
Thank the fucking lord. I feel like I'm finally regaining a little sanity. This winter sucked.
