went thru all the apartment complexes in this area and came up with nothing. Alot of bikes I'm sure are out because it's a nice day to ride...and most others were all covered up. I'm not ballsy enough to go and start peeking under someone elses cover. Anyway, I'm just gonna keep an eye out on the road and I got another guy that's gonna keep his eye out for me...hopefully it will turn up something.
Stoneman thanks for the link, I think Oreo posted it earlier so thank you too. But anyway, I went to a honda dealer and theirs were 470 each...definitely letting insurance take care of this one. But I may go through that site...haven't decided yet. I need to speak to the insurance adjuster at some point.

thieves suck I've been ripped off 3 times now Tools , clother, and scrap metal.
The police could do more than they will. The could run a search for bikes of the same color through the DMV and check for damaged ones in your area. They could even narrow it down more by similar bikes with no insurance. The police only take a report so you can give it to the insurance company.
Stoneman's right about it being for specific parts and local. I would look for bike with damage to other harder to steal panels that are still damaged with new side panels.
After I found it, since you can't prove they're your parts, I would just give them a little street justice either them or their bike. And on many occasions.![]()

Path, if it's covered by insurance & you feel like bein sneaky, get em to price it out & cut you a check.... then go to your local dealership & have them match the price on RonAyers.com
the dealership might be able to get it faster than RonAyers can ship it & you won't have to pay for shipping![]()

Painful, burning death needs to be the penalty for a whole lot more crimes than it is right now. It would benefit every law abiding citizen in the long run while at the same time, putting an eventual stop to the less than stellar gene pools that are breeding rampantly out there.

You think Michael Faye is vandalizing anything in Singapore these days? No, because in the early 90's they caned his white ass until it bled.
But it'll never happen here.
I'm thoroughly sick of Manchester.Path, I know exactly how you feel.
That stupid ass got caught a second time aabout 3 months later. I can't remember where this time ,but he didn't lean a fucking thing because the rest of the goodie goodie americans protested his punishment to the government and his sentence got reduced to 2 whacks instead of the 12 he should have got.Originally posted by 02 YZF 6

so the insurance guy cut me a check for 800 bucks...my question is this...the check is made payable to me and to naults...can I cash it out on my own? Or do I have to go to naults? I've never dealt with insurance before and have no idea...Thanks.
Path
nope you have to go to Naults it takes both of your signatures to cash the check. Why did they do that ? Did an adjuster come out? do you have a loan through Naults? Or did Naults do the appraisal?

I'm not sure why the guy did it. He just left my house about a half hour ago. He looked at the two appraisals and then used the price from one and the name from Naults. My guess is that the other one is cheaper so that's why he did it. But anyway, I just called him back and he told me that there are a couple of ways that I can go about this...just have to call him to exchange checks.. he said that one of the two places has the price wrong and he went with 470 as being the correct price
I hate this crap!!!!!

That check should be made out to no one but YOU. And you have every legal right to get your parts wherever YOU want. Not that you'd use Nault's. But if that's where you wanna bring it, they legally hafta give you a check for their quote. IT'S THE LAW...
And the check should be made out to YOU and YOU only. YOU pay the premium, not Nault's!

yeah I'm gonna call the guy back tomorrow and tell him I want to change that info. I would much rather have him put the check in my name, that way I can do with it as I see fit. I thought it was weird, but like I said, I've never been through this before. Thanks stoneman.

Is Naults a lean holder on the bike?
If they are that is why they wrote the check that way.
It's a pain in the ass but that is the way that it has to be done.
They do it that way so that if the bike is a total loss the lean holder will get paid off first and you get the balance if there is any. Also forces you to fix it if its not a total loss to bring it back up to full value

I've never heard of a shop that holds notes on bikes. If the note were held at Pedro's Internationl Bank of Meheeco City, the claim check would be made out to Path. Plus the bike WASN'T a total loss. The check was for damages...Originally posted by Rice-rocket1

I've never heard of an insurance company listing two recipients like that...
Insurance companies are supposed to use FACTORY supplied OEM parts as a basis for claims. Therefor, they should cut HIM a check based on FACTORY supplied OEM replacement parts...
Who the hell IS your insurance company? Zimbabuay Off Shore Motorcycle Insurance Company?![]()

I've seen checks made out to the lien holder and the vehicle owner before for the same reasons Rice-rocket1 said. Mostly to make sure it gets repaired. But you right it should be for factory parts.Originally posted by Stoneman

I would not accept a check written to the repair shop. I would make them re-issue me one without it. They can't force you to repair the bike , but they can inspect it and note damages incase you try to make a claim on parts that were damaged in a previous accident. That might be why you insurance company tried that crap.

In Ma. they are only required to use new parts if the vehicle is under a certain age (ie. newer than say 2 yrs for example) or a used or after market part is unavailable or doesn't fit right. Had a big headache with the ins. company when the truck was broadsided. Luckily the repair shop belonged to the place Tracy worked for and none of the after market parts seemed to fit.![]()
Just don't know if the same aplies to bikes.....
And the check was made out to us and the lean holder on the truck. That way the paper work gets signed upon repair and payment for the insurance company to bring the truck value back up for any future claims. If you just keep the money, and make no repairs and something else happens they assess minus any prior payout.

Okay. The more I think about it, the lein holder thing makes A LITTLE sense. Any claim I've made has been for vehicles that I owned outright...
Still doesn't make sense that a check for REPAIRS should have the lein holder as the third party though. His bike clearly wasn't close to be 'totalled'...

I did not buy the bike from Naults and they are not the lien holder. The lien holder is the bank in VT that I got financed through. Anyway, the invoices I had for replacements were from Naults and also from Concord M/C (where I bought my bike from). Anyway, the guy asked what place I was going to take my bike to, so I said that Naults would probably be easier as it is down the street from my apt. Thinking that he would go with their price (the higher of the 2). What he did was put Naults name on the "preliminary quote" and with it the price that Concord M/C gave me. Figures because they were the cheaper of the 2. So anyway, he made the comment to me that if they had stole the tail plastics and the upper fairing that they would replace it all with used parts because it didn't matter what color the parts were because all of the plastic would need to be replaced. Then he added, but I wouldn't do that to you because they only took those two pieces.
So anyway, I'm not going to either of those places anymore. I'm probably going to Plaistow Powersports because I am treated well when I go in there. They have been the most helpful of all the shops I have been into...so they get my business. Hope that clears some stuff up.
