If anyone is looking for a 50cc scoot I have to recommend the Yamaha C3. The looks are love it or hate it though. I know two people with them and Ive ridden one. Its pretty damn high-tech for $2k brand new. Three valve, liquid cooled and EFI. With removal of a washer they'll pull slightly over 40mph. If you want to get stupid you can add a power commander and mod the intake and exhaust for 50+. Best part is its registered as a moped here so no insurance, tags or license needed. The ruckus is the same deal but has zero secure storage and is carbed.
Mopeds BTW can use the bike lanes in the city and pass on the right. For heavy traffic you could probably make some good time through downtown.
