OK, I know I'm just asking for tons of abuse, but are there any 'scooter fans' here? I know a lot of you have some cool old beater scoots they use for pit bikes. (Tricky has one that he calls 'sparky' or something like that...!)
Not sure why but for the past couple years I've had a yen for a small, simple scooter that I can use when I don't want to pull out the Multi. You know, short rides to work. (I'm retired but have a part time job as a professional test driver of demo cars, repos, and dealer inventory...) Trips to Starbucks and the grocery store. And maybe a pit bike if there's room in the trailer.
I've purchased this from Seacoast and hope to have it delivered this weekend! It's a 300cc in Portifino Green and I'm pretty sure that certain chicks and some guys will be attracted to it...!
The actual bike...
Here's a stock picture of the same scoot without the snow and seat cover...

I rip my Zuma on the streets all the time....Tons of fun and easy to get out and ride. Having a bit more CC's than my Zuma, that should be a HOOT. The Ninja250 and the my Zuma get a lot of use and and just for a quick rip to the store or on a nice day they are Killer....
I am sure you will have a lot of fun with it.....enjoy
My goal is to have one of each from 50CC to 1000CC

At the seminar seacoast had an ape that looked all raced out and was just begging for antics. It had a sold sign on it, but i (we) spent plenty of time ogling.

Have a Ruckus 50 I bought for the wife for her 2 mile commute to and from work. It's a blast to ride around.

Softball post of the year. C'mon people!!
Vespas as sweet. I keep thinking about getting one and now that I live a couple minutes from "downtown" I'm seriously thinking about picking one up for those short trips into town for breakfast or whatever. Wouldn't mind having one as a pitbike either but they're a bit too big with everything else that needs to go in my trailer.

I'm not a scoot fan but that one looks pretty cool, unsure about that banana seat though, I thought those were mostly for lonely women.
If I had a need for a scoot, I would have bought the Spiderman edition ape I saw a couple years back. I think it was an SR50 base.
So you going to join the http://www.vesparados.com ???????

The Vespa is a fine machine, and very useful. Scooters are a very good practical solution to basic transportation.
I was mainly a scooterist before I bought my Monster, and still have my collection of old scoots.
I'm going to try to get them all back on the road this summer.

You keep posting that creepy picture and the problem will take care of itself....
(What's a 'mod'? Moderator??? Pretty sure Pete would veto any move in that direction - and I'll probably delete this post pretty soon...)
I'm kidding....Degsy already told me all about Mods...at least that's what I think he was talking about....

If i had the choice between riding a motorcycle and a scooter, motorcycle wins every time.
That being said...
Last time I was on St. Croix, I went to rent a bike and it was $250 a day for an older Harley, or $50 a day for a Chinese 150cc scooter. The cheap part of me won out and I was reassured by the guy it would do 60mph, no problem.
I have to say, it was super fun and made my whole trip. It definitely did 60mph and even rode 2-up well. I want a picture of you riding like a squid, though. It's impossible to ride a scooter in full gear.![]()

I've longed for a scooter, but it's just too impractical for me. I am mostly riding the highway and running errands before/after/during work so the amount of time that I'm just running around town or low speed limit country roads is pretty small. I'd love to have one, but I'd never actually use it. It would be the kind of thing where I'd probably drive home from work, then take the scooter to the gym/grocery store for like 2 weeks and then it would sit collecting rust until sold. If I had a local job or spent alot of time running around town then it'd be great. They are alot of fun to rent on vacation and cheaper than getting a real bike rental. This is the kind of vehicle you want to go exploring a new location.
