Scored a free TW!

Scored a free TW200 over the weekend, looks like it's in great shape, no scratches on the case covers or anything. Not running at the moment, but I plan on making this one snow/ice friendly... I have been considering taking up a challenge at work to ride in every day of 2011, and have been planning on using my current TW. Now with 2, I can stud one, and make it more snow/ice friendly. In the spring, Meg and I can have some fun litle rides on the pair.

Do you have a tire studding gun, or access to borrow one? Or are you going to have your tires studded elsewhere? If you're planning to do it yourself, let me know -- I want to stud a different rear tire for my Honda this winter, and I'd be glad to go in on a package of tire studs with you.

I'm sure I'll be doing it myself. I will also have to come up with a way to insulate the block, hoping it holds heat during the day when it's out in the parking lot at work.... Will be tough starting if it's outside in 10 degree weather all day.

I dunno!? I'm pumped though... watching your thread made me roll through a few fun ideas, but for now... I will just leave one minty stock, and make this one a winter beast.

http://tw200forum.com/ is your friend. Depend on the year, it's probably running lean as stock. For a few bucks you can just drill the airbox throw a new jet in there. For winter you might even want to go a little fatter on the jet.

You probably won't need to worry about it -- just richen up your pilot jet a little if necessary. My XR650L starts up without issue even when it's 5 degrees out. Just make sure your battery is strong.

As for tire studding, keep me posted.

and why does everyone like these TW200's? if you're using it as a dual sport of a toy dirt bike, I figure a regular dirt bike would do everything much better
