YAY! Insurance check *finally* cleared and now i can *offically* go shoppping for a new bike. I'm still considering a used bike, but if i can find a dealship that has good deals on a 2005 R6 / R1, I might be tempted for something in all black
SO....can anyone tip me off to any dealerships that have good out-the-door prices on 2005 Yamaha's?
thanks in advance!

I was succesful by going to 3 dealers
Got the best offer then went to my local guy and he matched it.
Also I think that Ohio ebay guy gives you a good idea of the bottom pricing
R1 good choice but look at king zx 10r

You might want to hold out for a few weeks. Let the dealerships make it through Christmas, and year end bonuses, etc. About late January, mid-Feb you might be able to swing a better deal. Good Luck...

The question now is, where are you going to store whatever new bike you decide to get?I wouldn't want to lock it to that same bike rack again

i know, right? I've been thinking about this ever since the day my bike got stolen. what am i going to do differentlly with the next one? for starters I'm gonna add two Krypto New York chains. they clearlly didn't have enough time get through two last time (dosn't meant the wont the next hime, however). prolly one for front wheel / one for back, both locked to something immovable. I'm also gonna move it to some where closer to peoples houses (i.e. prxomity to windows may scare off someone with a blow-torch), and i'm gonna look into something like lo-jack. if they want it, they will get it. I just have to make as difficult for them as i can.Originally posted by R7

I've got a nice alarm on mine with motion sensors and tilt sensors and all that stuff. Definitly a good deterant.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
how often that go off? ever bad trip that had no reason to go off? I was thinkin about something like that but I also live in Vermont with good places to store it..... Not as much of a danger as being in Boston or NYC.....but still an issueOriginally posted by hessogood

Bras cause cancer.
The problem with alarms is everyone feels the need to set theirs off all the time for no reason so they don't attract the attention they should when it's neededOriginally posted by Nikon

Lo-jack would be good for tracking it down if you find out it's gone in a reasonable time, probably only a matter of time before they locate the transmitterThough i did see a show on Speed a couple years ago where a tracking device was appoxied to the inside of the frame on the bike?
I'd at least store it in the house for the winter![]()

Well If you want the bike better come quick and better bring cash. Because once it snows out that bike isnt going anywhere unless you want to shovel my whole backyard to get it out of my basement.....then once spring the price is going up $500.00 bucks. I'll be home tonight leave a message saturday is the only day that I have free this weekend. Take care....

The alarm works great. Never have false alarms. I store the bike in a garage but it's great when it's parked in boston and there are people all around, or if I go inside somewhere for dinner. The keychain will beep or vibrate when the alarm goes off. A range of a mile or a half mile or something. It also tells you what time the alarm went off and what sensors were tripped. Even if it doesn't atract any attention, if a loud alarm goes off a theif is not going to hang out and keep working on a lock or keep trying to push a bike onto a truck. It will scare them off, even if it's not atracting attention.
