Should I do it ? (sell my bike)

Hmm should i do it ? My bike is almost done being fixed , just needs the frame hole repaired. Some guy offered me 1800 for it which is reasonable ... Should I pull the trigger and sell it and get a new z1000 ?

It's a 01 Sv650S with 4k miles, hole in frame but I bought all parts to make it mint again ... hmmmm dunno if I should do it.

nope, it was done by me like 2 years ago and I bought all the parts but never fixed it. It wsn't a bad fall (probably 5-10 mph?) which was the weird thing. The frame is like pot iron , cleanly pulled off right were the fairing mount was.

anyways I emailed the guy back my phone number. Looks like I am going to just sell it and get a z1000. Maybe even a used z1000 with low miles that I saw on craigslist a few weeks ago.

those bikes are going for at least a grand over that!

don't take any less if he offers less! + don't give him any xtras or spare parts for that price!

that hole is only an outer tear which hasn't effected the frames structural integrity at all ! It can be patched in 10 minutes with no ill-effects!

dude you said you weren't serious and were "jus fuckin with me" (quoted from your post before) , and I was under the impression that noone on this forum is serious about buying anything or showing up for that case ..

... cause you and hardcore never showed up that time and besides that I just found a pretty good deal on a R1 or a Z1000 and I don't have room in my garage for 5 bikes, so the sv has to go (I wasn't planning on selling the Sv either .. but saw a ad on craigslist looking for a project bike and shot the kid a email) ... anyways ... just gotta choose now between the Z and the R

, Found an AwesOMe deal ... z1000 , 4k miles, saddle bags, extended mirrors , and disc lock breaks .. clean bike never been down ... getting it for a stealll

that's what happens when you're not an active seller during the off season... i almost bought a bike a couple months ago but the seller was ho-humming w/ his thumb up his ass so i finally said "ferget it". Bikes don't sell themselves in the off season, you gotta put some effort into it.

Damn just checked the kbb.com retail price for the 01 sv650s ... wtf do prices for bikes ever drop ? That's how much I bought my bike for 3 years ago ... 4 grand .... its still at 4 grand ... wtf ?
Car prices drop like crazy .... but motorcycles seem to hit around 3k and don't depreciate any lower .... very odd ...

Usually its better to check sites like that before you sell the bike.

yep I know .... bad habit, i sold my 98 z3 like that ... 60k miles , let it go for 4 grand .. ouch that hurt after i found out how much it was worth after ...

anyways , I'm happy that now I can buy a newer bike
