Hi all, I am having the dilemma of whether or not to sell my street bike. I have started doing more track days, and I can still use the CBR for street use since it has headlights and is insured. Which leaves my VFR cooling it's heels in the garage a lot.
I know it is nice to keep a street bike in case the wosthappens to the track/street bike. But $$ is tight and I need a new mountainbike...
Thoughts? Has anyone regretted getting rid of their street machine or relying on a track machine for both duties? I am on the fence a bit, but I do need the green.
Here is the Ad for my street bike. If anyone is interested, let me know.

'07 VFR800 (SOLD)
With the relaxed tech requirements... no need to rely on two bikes.
The CBR can def do both.
Is the VFR paid for? If so, keep it. It's costs basically nothing to own. And it's a pretty cool bike with lots of character. I think you'll regret selling it.
LRRS/CCS Amateur #514 / RSP Racing / Woodcraft / MTAG Pirelli / Dyno Solutions / Tony's Track Days / Sport Bike Track Gear / 434racer / Brunetto T-Shirts / Knox / GMD Computrack
It will always be handy to have the VFR around for those longer rides/trips. I say keep it as long as you can, but if you need the money then its the one to sell as the cbr is faster!
yeah. it is a terrible choice since the VFR is pretty unique and sexy lookin. I am just coming to the reality that I cant really afford to run two bikes on a regular basis. At least not right now.
Thanks for the advise! GixerJockey, I think you are right, I will regret it.... rats.

Buy a used Mountain bike
Glen Beck is John the Baptist
FWIW
NEED is the word that you used to describe the fact that you WANT for a new mountainbike.
I would keep the vfr and do what rich said, by used to fix the one you have.
Don't sell it......that's a beautiful bike...... color scheme![]()
Sell the VFR, keep the CBR for track only, Take money from VFR sale and buy a Motard. Toss the mountain bike idea in the trash seeing it has no motor
What do i win for the great idea?![]()
Yamaha
haha. it is a ....unique idea mark! hey, maybe if I got a motard I could learn to wheelie...
The issue is that I ride mountain bikes 3-4 days a week and road bikes the other days, motorcycling is really a hobby that came about in the last few years. Now my racing mtb broke and something has to give to replace it... I would buy used, but I get industry hook-ups, so it isnt worth it. It is very tough to pick which passions get more attention and more funds than the others!
I have used the VFR at the track before, it is a BLAST. I am just terrified of laying down such a gorgeous bike.... which is why i got the CBR... and laid IT down.

If you are really going to get into riding the track then sell the VFR. For me riding on the street has lost most of its fun with big bikes. If I get another bike for the street its a motard.
I wish honda put out more bikes with that paint Id be on it right now.
