Glad to hear you are relatively OK wayne. That sort of scenario is nothing you expect or prepare for, so it's not so easy for anyone else to say "Well why didn't you do this? Or that?". Hindsight is always 20-20. I probably woulda done the same. Now it will be something a lot of us on NESR will keep in the back of our minds.
The throttle mechanism isn't chrome, is it? If not, I think I found the problem![]()

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.

I'm gonna get my elbow checked I think before it gets too bad. The jacket was a Tourmaster goretex. Funny then is that my right sleeve three good size holes in it and the left sleeve just had a lil hole in it on the elbow that took the beating. Go figure. Can't wait ta hear the new clutch tomorrow.

Glad to hear you are ok and are jumping right back in the saddle.
You may want to ditch the steel toed boots while riding as they are extremely dangerous. While they are perfect for protecting you from a dropped hammer or other heavy objects, they are no match for the forces of a motor vehicle accident. An impact can cause the steel to yield and be forced into your foot or toes which normally results in an amputation of some degree.

RIP A.B. RIP BEET, I Ride in Leathers because I would rather sweat than Bleed...
The forces on the foot in a motorcycle accident are totally different than most industrial accidents.
If you look at the armor and where the stresses are countered in a quality riding boot, you will see that the toe is not protected but rather all the focus is on the ankle and toe joints. Plus Motorcycle boots are very light so they don't swing you around like a pendulum when you are airborne and wearing heavy steel toe boots. My Chippewa's weigh close to 5 to six pounds for the pair.

If you get queasy and don't like seeing gross stuff, then I recommend you don't go to this site ... There is some really bad shit here!

I think Mike, ZX-12R, and Currently have convinced me to start wearing my riding boots. The only fear I have is having one or both getting sucked off in the event of a crash. I've heard so many stories.

I'm pretty sure that if they fit well, you won't have that issue.Originally posted by Wayne-o

Sorry to hear about your crash, glad to hear you are doing OK overall and getting your bike back.
When you say you are worried about having your boot pulled off what do you mean? I am curious....
Hope you feel better soon....!
