I see a clearance on Sidi Vertebra Race
Boots on new enough...
How are they?
Used to be the state of the art, no?
I have been lusting after
a pair of Vertigo Corsas but at $400 its
kinda outta my range now.

They're great on the bike, but not super comfy for walking around. The ankle bracing makes them a little awkward off the bike.
Protection is fantastic IMO and the soles are a little stiffer than the street ones. When you work the pegs hard this makes a nice difference. no more bruised feet.
I just picked up a pair of Vertigo Corsas at Naults in manchester for $280. They are way cool and have an adjustable strap over the top of your foot so your heel doesn't pull up in the boot....but yeah for walking they are a little awkward.
How do you get Vertigo Corsas for $280?
That's pretty cheap !

like i said man...Nault's in manchester, NH. they were havin a sale. Not sure how long it was goin on but im sure they could order some for you.
I'd spring for a set of Vertigos before I bought a set of Vertebra Race(s) again if your streetriding. Better design to them, better ventilation and for walking around too.
The 'protective brace' on the side of the Vertebra R's was just a big chunk of hollow plastic that cost about 100$ more (then) and was guaranteed to snap anytime you did anything besides ride your bike, this includes the walk to the shed.
Vertigo Corsas for $280? thats a good price for even Vertigo's - methinks someone sold you the wrong boots - good deal though![]()
I hit the wall in turn 2 at Loudon pretty fast and my left foot slipped under the air fence and hit the wall sole-first. Very severely bruised and swollen ankle, but the people at Concord hospital looked at my Sidi vertebra race boots and said that the brace on the boots stopped me from a much more serious injury. They said that they were the best boots in terms of safety that any of the racers had come in there with so far.
