    Slacker deal

Figured I'd bring some actual moto content to the site for a change of winter pace, and pass on a deal I found posted on advrider.

Slacker currently has a fantastic deal for the below combo kit. Use code CP250 to bring the total to $75 before shipping.

Beats the hell out of getting your wife/gf/bf/whatever to measure for you.

Oh hell yes. I've been looking at this gizmo for a while specifically because nobody has the patience to help me set sag anymore. Tired of half assing it trying to use a string and not falling off the bike at the same time, ultimately giving up and calling it "close enough".

I didn't know these things were a thing until a few months ago when I heard about it randomly dropped in a yootoobe video. Oddly it was not a sponsored feature or anything. And the source was one of those cats that sells the living crap out of whatever crap he is being paid to feature constantly.

there are a handful of mechanical and cheaper options as well, but they're a pain in the ass if solo. bought the Slacker a few years ago after using the Motion Pro sag scale and DRC sag tool, the Slacker was worth every penny, even at full price. i use the app for readout but the remote would be cool. still bring the MP scale with me if a buddy wants to dial sag before a ride ... the DRC tool sucks. do not recommend.

Slacker tip for dirt, drill a tiny hole in your rear fender for consistent and quick repeated measurements. the universal mount is kind of annoying on some plastic shapes.

Thanks for posting this. Did a bunch of poking around the site and managed to find a kit including the case for $91 shipped.

How did you pair the case for that price? My total was $91 after tax & shipping but doesn't look like a case is included in my order.

Looks like cheapest place to get a case is on Walmart assuming you can exceed the minimum order value of $35 to get free shipping. https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/219488658 Let us know how you like the case

edit: mine just got delivered with no case: Slacker + wireless remote display.

    Re: Slacker deal

In retrospect I should have added the case to my order. The CP250 code works to discount that as well.

Definitely get the case. I put mine in the moto tool drawer in my toolchest and the first thing it immediately did was stick to the nearest metal item. The magnet on the back is very strong, and there are a bunch of odds and ends that come with the kit that could use a storage spot.

If it makes you feel any better I owe myself $22 lol. At least you didn't pay full price for the whole Slacker kit like my dummy riding buddy who didn't read the coupon code text I sent him.

I just did some quick measurements - it SHOULD fit nicely inside this:

    Re: Slacker deal

I ordered the case from Walmart after adding a set of retractable ratchet straps to meet the free shipping limit. Man math tells me I get a cheap case AND discounted ratchet straps

Should have added that little tidbit in. I was searching around the main site and stumbled upon the package in the link. I had two windows open, the original deal window, and the main site where this package is found. Added it to the cart from the main site, and refreshed the window with the deal package and it comes up with a reduced price. Remove the deal package and you are left with this one. Add the CP250 code and bam, $90.99 out the door.

    Re: Slacker deal

The case is pretty large, was hoping for a bit more compact to carry in a tool case. Unfortunately, it seem the packaging of this unit seems a lot larger than it needs to be. Would be nice to see a more compact version in the future.

Also, be sure to check out this blog entry on the site. Talks about not measuring exactly vertical. More that you should consider the curve in the rotation of the rear axle when placing your measuring point on the upper section.

Interesting...when I try that I get "discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart". Maybe you got lucky!

I think I did. I noticed that when I tried to replicate it yesterday. Sorry I didn't get on here earlier with the info.
