The year was 1991 and the bike was a 1989 Honda VTR250

Paid a friend $1000 iirc, I had it for the summer and he bought it back after his divorce was final.

87 ZX750. I'm pretty sure I paid $1200, it was right around there. Not sure what year I bought it, 06 or 07 maybe? I kept it for 1.5 years.



This pic was the last time I ever had it, it went from that parking lot (my old work) directly to trade for a dirt bike.

That bike was a PIG. Not much power, weight a metric fuckton.

Bought in 2007, running 1987 CBR F1 Hurricane, with all plastics, for 500 bucks. Only thing that didn't work was the temp sensor.

Thing was awesome, dropped it so many times. Smoked a deer on it, put it back together, road it for the rest of the season, and then moved on to a newer bike the next year. Best Idea I ever had to buy that bike.

The bike I "really" learned on and got my license on was a Kawaski KZ305, don't remember the year though. IIRC that was in 2007. It was ugly, slow and cold blooded, but it was the perfect starter bike.

In 01 or 02 I got a 1972 Honda CL350 from a friend for $100

96 YZF600. Look just like this. It was my neighbors, but he had no time to ride it. So he let me ride it all summer in 2006. At the end of the year, I worked out a trade of labor on his house over the winter for the bike. We figured $1800 of labor was fair.

I had (actually still have in rough shape) an 86 Ninja600 that looked very similar. bought it in spring 2003, "sold" it to a friend a year later and took it back probably a couple years later.

2006 Yamaha R6S, $8300 right off the showroom floor barely ever having ridden a bike before. Had to go right out of the dealership because I was too afraid to cross traffic by trying to make a left.

'07 Ninja 650R
Bought it brand new off the showroom floor. That first trip home was probably the most nervous I've ever been on a bike. Owned it for three years, then traded it in.

1990 Yamaha XT350 (plated/registered dual-sport, so it counts!), which I bought from a coworker in 2003 for $500. When I got my Triumph I sold the XT to my friend Jesse, who last year sold it to Keith (always for $500 -- that rule comes with the bike).
