    Sportbike rentals at the Dragon

Somehow I am not sure about this one. You can rent an R1 for your first dragon experience.

Their Policy section is pretty wild.

You agree to abide by all rules of the road

Well I guess I'm out. Damned if I'm not going to wring the piss out of the competitions bike to see how it compares to the far superior gixxer 1k

Thats a good way to be sure you sell a good amount of bikes. I'm sure 60% of the rentals would never return.

It did say 15 before, now its 20. Wierd. I dont think this will last long. Especially if they only have those 5 bikes to rent.

Rental rates actually seem very fair given their intended use and including crash insurance (minus the $2500 deductable).

    It's not a deductable... it's a deposit!!!!
on top of letting them hold onto your $2500 while you own the bike, your credit card must have a limit of the full price of the bike...
    I don't think a rental 2003 R1 is worth much more than 2500 in the first place~~~

I don't think that's correct. I had that initial impression when I first read through the policies, but after rereading it, I'm pretty sure the phrase "full cost of your rental" only means the total amount you are paying for the actual rental; it doesn't mean you need a $17,000 credit limit.

We are for real and we look forward to proving it to you. I started the company for riders like you who are too far away to get your own bikes down here. I'm from California myself. Even shipped a bike there last year just so I can ride the Smokies. Now you can, too. Still getting the kinks out, but all is well. I recommend you come down to the Gap while the rockslide has 129 closed from the Tennessee side. No cars on The Dragon and everything else is open. Give us a shot.

I think thats a pretty average deposit for a bike. I'm renting a 1098 in Vegas in September and have to put a cc deposit of 3k down.

ummm just back from US129 two weeks ago ......actually it works out good it being
closed and all..... weekdays were a blast ....... weekend plenty of LEO presence ! not
so much . There were car clubs up on it at the week-end !

As for renting bikes ...... has it's purpose I suppose ...... if you are coming from
a long long distance or you make the tree of shame and need another bike

We had a meet up with four 1000F "Hurricanes" much fun

    My "Cane" on the Dragon

Their insurance rates are cheap because they have a $2500 deductable. Normally it's $250-$500.
