I'd love to have the FZ1 dyno'd and see what the A/F ratios look like. Maybe get a custom tune too. Anyone know of any dyno days coming up?
I've always thought it would be fun to do this on a bike.. I'm not familiar with "tuning" so you need to buy something like the power commander in order to do any of this? Can you borrow someone's etc?
My current ride is a 2005 R6
A buddy and I are getting our bikes dyno tuned in nashua NH next friday. Not really a dyno day though. It'll be 2-3 hours per bike. Typically he has people leave the bike overnight so that he can do it.. But we're riding down from burlington VT.

The power commander sits between your stock ECU and your injectors and tweaks the fuel maps that your ECU is applying. So no, you can't borrow a friends. It has to be installed to be effective.
We have Dynojet power commanders, and the dyno runs through a lot of routines from Dynojet so that the maps are updated quite thoroughly.

Gotcha...
I'm used to tuning cars.. and now a days the ECU's can be re-mapped with laptop, cable, and software and be done with it...
If you want a Power Commander give these guys a call:

Great prices, great support.
Sean, does this mean the fz1 is here to stay? Or may it still be taking a trip to warmer climates?

Yeah, me too. Some bikes actually can be remapped just with a cable. I have no idea about your FZ1.
The power commander actually works really nicely since it's provided by the same people that make the dyno. The dyno loads the bike through all of these routines.. works really well actually.
