no more street riding for me. gonna cancel my reg & insurance this week too many freaks out on the streets
RIP to the innocent rider. The idiot who caused this was 35 yo and pulling that shit. Thirty five going on 20. Too bad others had to pay for his moronic actions.
I don't read anywhere in the article that the offending rider crossed the line due to excessive speed or anything of the sort.

Well then there you have it.
Sad, sad, sad. Without getting into specifics I have established a rule for myself that I will never, ever cross a double yellow. I've only done it when a car in front of me slows and gives a wave around and I can clearly see up front where I'm going and it's clear.
What we do is inherently dangerous enough. No need to add to it.
between the dip by Umass, the potholes, stoplights right behind blind corner, merges during a turn, etc, etc it is a giant pain in the ass. especially tuesday nights. That is not saying anything about MCN either because those of us on the grass tend to stay pretty tame out there but the guys across the street and the guys that park in the park next to the field seem to cause problems. can't spend the 3 bucks and then screw it up for everyone else
my buddy was the one that got hit and passed. it's so sad i just seen him 10 mins before the accident enjoying life at MCN. R.I.P to both riders..
Condolences sir.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
So, it appears that one ride lost it and collected one coming the other way?
I'm always surprised when I see this reaction.
There are measures you can take (anti-SMIDSY, hi-viz clothing, white or yellow helmet, loud horn, practice, paranoia) to mediate the risk.
You're still many times more likely to be killed riding a bike than driving a car.
But after a while, you are many times more likely to die of heart disease than a motorcycle accident.....
