1998 Honda VTR 1000, 21K miles, was told a tune up done at 14K before I got it two years ago. Carbs haven't been pulled and cleaned by me since, always stabilized for winter, SeaFoam run through a tank three or four times a year. Started stalling yesterday on my way home from work every time I pulled and held the clutch for more than three or four seconds. Always fired right back up, no starting issues, no bogging down under load. Any ideas on what might be a simple fix instead of having to go straight to the carbs? As always, any help is greatly appreciated.
Turn up the idle speed a smidge. Might have a partially blocked idle jet that's slowing it down enough to stall.
Check the air filter if turning up the idle doesn't work. Btw bike should idle when warm between 1200 and 1500 rpm
